Dakota Fanning disliked being called ''precocious'' when she has a child star because she was just trying to be herself.
Dakota Fanning hated being called ''precocious'' when she was a child actress.
The 20-year-old starlet has admitted that she really disliked being labelled by film critics when she growing up in the spotlight.
Dakota - who has starred in over 35 movies and TV shows since she was seven years old -revealed she has always been mature and hated being accused of acting older than her years.
She explained: ''I have this whole thing with that word 'precocious'. I guess it's not a negative, but when I was younger, especially, I was labelled that, and I was just being who I was! Do you know what I mean? Like, 'Oh you're so mature,' when I'm just being normal.''
The 'Night Moves' actress also revealed that she won't be getting a Twitter account because she wants to keep her life a ''mystery''.
The 20-year-old starlet added to Lucky magazine: ''It's a hole I really don't want to dive into. I don't want to know all these things about people. It's like the mystery of life has been removed!''
