Crystal Castles performing live at Life is Beautiful Festival in Los Angeles, California, United States - Monday 26th September 2016
Due to hit the LA State Historic Park in a couple of weeks is the 2013 Hard Summer Music Festival featuring headline sets from several electro-house artists including Duck Sauce, Knife Party and Justice.
The festival first appeared in 2007 when Destructo (a DJ also known as Gary Richards) began promoting a series of live events that also included Hard New Year's Eve, Hard Haunted Mansion and Hard 13. This year it will take place on August 3rd and 4th and includes four stages including the Ed Bangor Records 10th Anniversary Stage and the Dirty Bird Players Stage.
Other headliners this year are Skrillex and Boys Noize side project Dog Blood, Californian DJ Bassnectar and Aussie duo Empire of the Sun. They will be joined by the no less exciting supporting acts of chart favourites 2 Chainz, Azealia Banks and Rudimental as well as SBTRKT, Flux Pavilion, Flying Lotus, Zedd, Crystal Castles and Baauer.

Music In the News...Jack White has been awarded an honor for musical excellence, from University College Dublin. The James Joyce Award was presented to the former White Stripes frontman, who is currently touring with Willy Moon, by the university's Literary and Historical Society.
Cat Power has informed her fans, that her European tour will still go ahead, despite the news that she is suffering financial and health difficulties. She told her fans "European Tour Is On. Without Stage Presentation. Hard Money Wasted." It is thought that she is planning a stripped-down version of her show for the tour, which will include her first London show in four years.
Katy Perry has been accused of 'sexualising children' by the indie-dance band Crystal Castles. The band's singer, Alice Glass, told NME magazine "I think a lot of (pop stars) sell sex to children. I think a lot of kids are more sexualised now than they were years ago and I'm not sure it's a coincidence. Like f**king Katy Perry spraying people with her f**king d**k, her f**king c** gun c**ming on f**king children. And little girls, like six-year-old girls wearing a shirt with 'I wanna see your (pea) cock' on it."

HEALTH may seem like strange touring partners to Crystal Castles at first glance if you were not aware of their previous collaborations. Yet they fit perfectly, putting the hedonistic synthetic blasts of the headliners into actual songs and smothering them with devastating percussion. Drummer Jupiter Keyes is the bands' centrepiece and everyone else feeds off him, pirouetting across the stage, screaming through digital effects and occasionally stabbing at an instrument as his unrelenting tribal patterns force the venue into submission.
