In the most recent episode of 'Running Wild with Bear Grylls', Cox also opened up to the survivalist about her love life.
Courteney Cox has revealed she regrets letting the pressures of appearances lead her to get plastic surgery earlier in her career, saying that she has “learned lessons”.
The 52 year old former ‘Friends’ star spoke to Bear Grylls in a new episode of ‘Running Wild’ that aired on Monday (August 22nd), taking time out from hiking and survivalism in the Irish Highlands to talk about her career and love life.
“Getting older, I don't think that's the easiest thing. But I have learned lessons,” she told Grylls. “I think I was trying to keep up with getting older and trying to chase that. It's something you can't keep up with.”

“Sometimes you find yourself trying and then you look at a picture of yourself and you go 'oh god, I look horrible.' I have done things that I regret and luckily there are things that dissolve and go away. So that's good because it's not always been my best look,” she added.
Cox also opened up about the 2010 divorce from her ex-husband David Arquette, with whom she shares 12 year old daughter Coco.
“We found ourselves living separate lives and just coexisting and being great friends, but not having the intimacy that is so important in a relationship," she explained. “I think you really need to work in a relationship, and I think that we tried. We're just really different, too. I'm the polar opposite of him. And that can be great for a lot of things, but I need this kind of real, one-on-one connection. It wasn't a dramatic ending. It was more of a… just, I don't know.”
She now dates Snow Patrol guitarist Johnny McDaid, 40, to whom she was briefly engaged last December before they reconciled in three months later in March. Cox said that this experience was “brutal”.
“We were engaged for over a year and then we broke up,” she recounted to Grylls. “There's something about… you know, he's from Ireland. And the way he regards love is precious. We have to treat it in a different way. It's more special – you coddle it. So I didn't know how to regard love the way he does. I definitely have learned a lot, and no matter what, I will be a better person from that breakup, even though it was so brutal.”
