Colin Firth hates taking selfies with his fans.

The 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' star admits he doesn't enjoy posing for photographs, but also dislikes when people secretly snap pictures of him when he's not working.

He said: ''People coming up and saying something nice is always welcome. But when you're being secretly photographed, that's not so nice. I would rather shake hands with someone and exchange a few words than take a selfie.''

The 54-year-old actor, who has two sons, Luca, 13, and Matteo, 11, with wife Livia Firth, has spent a lot of time in Los Angeles over the past few weeks, and admits he hasn't had a holiday in some time.

He said: ''Vacations seems like a distant memory. The last one was Kenya. I went with my family, and we went to the northern region and coast. We did some safari stuff and visited friends.''

But the British star also spent the festive season in Italy, where he enjoyed his last great meal.

He told PEOPLE magazine: ''I was in Italy and had a delicious seafood linguini. Those meals will beat anything you get in a restaurant.''

While Colin loves living in the UK with his family, he admits some things are better in Los Angeles.

He said: ''I think Southern California sunsets are some of the most beautiful I've ever seen.''
