Cuban musician Chucho Valdes is to join Natalie Cole onstage at the Hollywood Bowl to revisit a standard their fathers first recorded together in the 1950s.

The pianist's father Bebo Valdes was hired by Nat King Cole to arrange and play on his 1958 Spanish language album Cole Espanol and now his son will perform with Cole's daughter when she headlines at the Bowl on 14 August (13).

Valdes will also open for the singer, who has scored a hit album by reworking her father's Spanish-language project - Natalie Cole en Espanol shot to the top of Billboard’s Latin Albums chart in the U.S. when it was released earlier this summer (13).

The Bowl concert will also serve as a tribute to Bebo Valdes, who died in March (13) at the age of 94.
