Chrissy Teigen Is No Longer Using Photoshop: "We Forget What Normal People Look Like"

Chrissy Teigen has decided she will no longer be using Photoshop to edit her social media pictures. The 29-year-old model, who is the wife of John Legend, discussed her decision whilst appearing on The Meredith Vieira Show on Friday (24th April). Teigen responded to a question from Vieira about the recent picture she posted on Instagram in which she showed her fans the bruises she had acquired by accidentally bumping in to kitchen counters. In doing so she also showed that she had stretch marks on the tops of her legs. Although many celebrities would have edited the image to hide the marks, Teigen took a refreshing approach by joking about her stretch marks in the picture's caption.

"Bruises from bumping kitchen drawer handles for a week," Teigen wrote on 13th April. "Stretchies say hi!"

Many of Teigen's fans have congratulated her for being honest and showing that both models have stretch marks too and the image received more than 132, 000 likes. Most of the people who commented on Instagram appeared to be completely unaware that both models and celebrities are actually human and subject to the same body changes as the rest of us mere mortals.

Speaking on The Meredith Vieira Show, Teigen revealed it was this image which was the turning point for her in deciding not to use any of the photoshopping apps. She believes creating an unachievable image is dangerous as people are completely changing their bodies through plastic surgery.

"I have those apps, the Facetune and Photoshopping ones, and I just didn't feel like doing it anymore, and I'm never going to do it again, because I think we forget what normal people look like now," Teigen said on the show (via ET).

"The standard is so ridiculous," she added. "People are nip-tucking. It's gotten to a point where they're not smoothing their skin anymore. They're actually changing the shape of their body. Nobody can compare to that."
