Christina Hendricks says she would love the chance to play Wonder Woman if the iconic superhero ever makes it to the big screen.

The 36-year-old actress has recently finished filming new action thriller Driver with Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn, who is rumoured to be planning on making a Wonder Woman movie, asked if she would consider donning the famous costume she said "I think [Nicolas] thinks I would be good in that role" adding "I loved working with Nicolas so much, he's such an incredibly talented director, If he gets to direct Wonder Woman, then I would love to do it with him." Hendricks is currently starring in comedy I Don't Know She Does It alongside Sarah Jessica Parker and is the story of a woman who earns more money than husband and has to provide for her children.

Hendricks was born in Knoxville, Tennessee and began her acting career appearing in a series of small television roles including E.R. and Firefly. However, her breakout role came after joining the cast of hit of AMC show Mad Men as femme fatale Joan Holloway. As well as television work she has also recently starred in several movies including Driver alongside Ryan Gosling and upcoming movie Struck By Lightning which is a coming-of-age story written by and featuring Glee star Chris Colfer. It is the story of a boy who is killed after being struck by lightning and recalls how he blackmailed his classmates into contributing to his magazine.
