Time for the weekly box office recap – and this time, we seem to have a new champion. Guardians of the Galaxy finally crossed the $300 million mark this week, but it also marked the movie’s first weekend at number two after a three-week straight run.

Guardians of the Galaxy might be moving into retirement soon.

The box office is slowing down after a heated summer, freeing up the space for No Good Deed to rise to the top with $24 million. It’s not a thoroughly impressive number, but with a $14 million budget, the Idris Elba starrer No Good Deed counts as a success.

The rest of the Top 5 went to yet more obscure titles – Dolphin Tale 2 took second place with 16.5 million made over the 3-day stretch. It’s a slight drop from its predecessor, which premiered in 2011 with $19 million on opening weekend, but still marks a success for the franchise during a slow movie period.

Coming in at number 3 is Guardians of the Galaxy with $8 million, which brings its domestic total up to $305 million. It’s one of only 50 movies to have ever crossed the $300 million milestone and the first one in 2014.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Let’s Be Cops round out an uneventful top 5 with $4.8 and $4.3 million, respectively.
