Chris Pratt may just be the best human – in Hollywood, anyway. The Guardians of the Galaxy star recently showed up to a special screening of the movie, which doesn’t come out until Friday. The screening was arranged by Variety the Children's Charity of New York and Children of Promise for 250 underprivileged children from the New York area.

Turns out, Pratt actually has a lot in common with his Parks & Rec character.

Pratt came out as a special surprise for the kids after they watched the movie and then, according to the New York Daily News, he stayed way longer than the allotted time, to make sure he could take a picture with anyone who wanted one and answered any and all questions the kids and teens had for him. For Pratt, this is one of the best parts of the job.

“That was really fun, this is what it’s all about,” said a visibly touched Pratt after the show. “I get impatient sometimes being on a promotional tour all the time, but something like this I would sit here as long as it took to take a picture with every one of those guys.”

“Tonight was really special to me.”

As for the children, many of them saw the evening as a once-in-a-lifetime event.

“As an aspiring actress to meet a real (Hollywood) actor who’s so humble and kind,” said 18-year-old Noura Jost, an aspiring actress, who studies under Girl Be Heard, a program sponsored by Variety, which works to empower girls through acting. ”It was really inspiring.”
