Chris Pratt views his weight as a ''costume''.

The 'Jurassic World' actor shed the pounds to star in 'Guardians of the Galaxy' before dropping another 50lbs for his role in the dinosaur saga but just views his fluctuating size as a way of getting into character with a ''great deal of effort''.

He said: ''It's cool. It's nice to know that there's something I can do, that I can manipulate the way I look - that's a good thing for an actor to be able to do.

''For years people have been putting on masks, putting on costumes, and this is essentially a costume that I took a great deal of effort to put on.''

Chris - who has two-year-old son Jack with wife Anna Faris - knows he can rely on his spouse to bring him back to earth if he starts acting like a ''douche'' but he is grateful for her support.

He added in an interview with heat magazine: ''I'm sure if my wife catches me being a douche, she'll be like, 'Come on Bro'. But she loves me however I am, she didn't mind me the way I looked before, so that's nice.''
