‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2’ is still at number one for a fourth week.
It’s only a week to go before Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theatres, so this weekend was the last chance that any new release had to make an impact in 2015. But sadly for Chris Hemsworth’s In The Heart Of The Sea audiences did not flock to see the whaling adventure, leaving it sinking at the US box.

The film only managed to bring in $11million at the US box office over the weekend from 3,103 theatres, meaning it debuted in the number two spot. The low opening was bad news for studio Warner Bros, as the film reportedly cost an estimated $100 million to make.

In The Heart Of The Sea tells the true story of the sinking of American whaling ship Essex, which inspired the tale of Moby-Dick. It is directed by Ron Howard and stars Chris Hemsworth, Benjamin Walker and Cillian Murphy.
Still at number one for a fourth week running is The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2, the final instalment in the saga. It brought in $11.3 million bringing its domestic haul up to $244.5 million. Overseas it added $15.4 million to its total making a worldwide total of $564.6 million.

At number three was Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur, which took $10.5 million in its third week, following closely behind was Rocky sequel Creed, which managed $10.1 million, also in its third week. The top five was then rounded off by comedy Krampus which took $8 million.
