Glee sensation Chris Colfer is set to expand his promising writing career after landing a two-book deal with a major publisher.
The 21-year-old star has already penned a movie screenplay, Struck by Lightning, which is due to be filmed this summer (11), and a pilot TV show for Disney.
He is now turning his attentions to novel-writing and his ideas have been snapped up by bosses at the Little, Brown Book group, which caters for the youth market.
Colfer's first book, entitled The Land of Stories, will be based on classic fairy tales, while his second is still a secret.
He says in a statement, "When I was 10 years old, I promised myself that if I ever had the opportunity to write this book, I would jump at the chance. This book has been at the core of my imagination for a long time and I'm excited and nervous to share it."
