Cheryl announced her departure from The X Factor on Tuesday to focus on her music career.
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini might be done with ‘The X Factor’, but her days as a talent show judge may not be over. Odds that Cheryl will now jump ship to rival show ‘The Voice’ have gone from 5-1 to 8-11 since yesterday, despite the singer saying she now wants to concentrate on her music career.
Is Cheryl Fernandez-Versini about to move to ‘The Voice’?
A spokesperson for Ladbrokes told The Daily Star: "Cheryl says she wants to concentrate on the music but plenty of punters expect her to jump ship to The Voice instead.” If Cheryl does move to ‘The Voice’ she could be sitting next to longtime friend Will.i.am.
A TV insider also told the paper: “Cheryl and Will would be a dream team for producers. Their natural chemistry as friends would be amazing for the show.” Will is yet to confirm wether he’ll be staying on ‘The Voice’s’ judging panel when the show moves to ITV next year.
Previously Will stated that he would only return to the show if they reformed the original judging panel, which featured Jessie J, Sir Tom Jones and Danny O’Donoghue. “If they come back, I’d come back. All the originals,” the singer said last month.
Cheryl officially announced her ‘X Factor’ departure on Tuesday (April 5th) in a statement reading: "I've missed making music. I have had such an amazing experience being a judge on ‘The X Factor’”.
“I have learnt so much and enjoyed nurturing talent but I've missed making music and am excited to be recording again. I want to thank everybody I have worked with along the way, especially Simon who I love to bits. I hope the show continues to produce stars and I wish them all the best.”
