Cheryl Cole has "turned a corner" after being dumped from US 'x factor'.

The 'Promise This' singer was sensationally sacked from the pop star search show last month and although she has not appeared in public since, her close pal and new UK 'X Factor' judge Gary Barlow revealed she is doing well.

He told MailOnline: "Cheryl is a very good friend of mine. I'm sending support. I've spoken to her and I think she has turned a corner now. I would say she is going places.

"I'm sad that she's gone, but do you know what, she will move on to something else. I know her quite well and she is an ambitious girl, she's very together and she'll get over this no question."

Gary added that Cheryl has wished him luck in his new role.

Fellow judge Louis Walsh added that Cheryl is well and revealed she is not bitter with him.

He said: "Cheryl's great, she's a great girl - we're on really good terms, There is no bitterness - not with me anyway!

"Cheryl is fine. She was texting me all day yesterday, we're on really good terms. She wished me well and told me to give them hell!"
