Cher and Liza Minnelli have sent their support to Madonna after she fell backwards down a set of stairs during her BRIT Awards performance.
The 56-year-old singer took a tumble as she closed last night's (25.02.15) show with her track 'Living For Love' when her Armani cape failed to detach as her dancers pulled it off, and the two veteran entertainers have praised the star for remaining professional and continuing with her performance.
Lisa wrote on Facebook: ''Somebody told me that my friend Madonna fell while performing but she is incapable of doing such a thing. You couldn't keep Madonna down if you tried.''
And Cher tweeted: ''Heard Madonna Fell On Stage This is Something WE ALL DREAD‼️
''MADGE, I GIVE U PROPS,U R a CHAMP 4 FINISHING YOUR SONG‼️I HOPE U R UNHURT (sic)''
Following the incident at London's O2 Arena, Madonna reassured her fans she was unhurt.
Alongside a mock up of herself in the cape, she wrote on Instagram: ''Armani hooked me up! My beautiful cape was tied too tight! But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up! Thanks for your good wishes! I'm fine #livingforlove (sic).''
Despite the nasty fall - during which the audience heard a loud thud as she toppled down the stairs and dropped her microphone - the 'Hung Up' hitmaker managed to continue with her performance.
Ironically, the lyrics to her latest song spoke about seeing her ''stumble'' and ''carry on''.
She sang: ''Lifted me up, and watched me stumble.
''After the heartache I'm gonna carry on.''
