Daredevil. DAREDEVIL. DAREDEVIIIIIIL. If that one Ben Affleck movie that one time kinda left you not wanting to hear the name again, then let these first-look photos of Charlie Cox in Marvel’s upcoming TV series ease the pain and restore your faith.

This weekend at New York City Comic-Con, the studio gave a sneak peak of Cox as Matt Murdock and he looks… how do I put this… SO FREAKING COOL. Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada mentioned that Cox was one of the easiest casting decisions for the studio. Apparently, Quesada had already chosen the Boardwalk Empire actor even before the rights were secured. So that must mean we’re getting a really great Daredevil here, right?

Charlie Cox
Charlie Cox will make for a different Daredevil indeed.

Cox will be joined by Rosario Dawson as nurse Claire Temple and – possibly, probably, let’s hope so – Night Nurse (who looks like this, by the way, you’re welcome for those nightmares.)

As for those pictures, feast your eyes. The costume seems to go with the current trend of dark, gloomy, “mature” superheroes lately, which feels very... DC of them. But at least they’ve gotten rid of that red leather monstrosity, so let’s count that as a victory.

According to EW's recap, the panel also featured Vincent D’Onforio. If you’re just tuning in, he was cast as Wilson Fisc, aka The Kingpin. Marvel fans are hoping he might add some much needed character to the lineup of onscreen villains. In a new clip from the series shown at Comic Con, Fisk meets his lady love, an art gallery owner named Vanessa. Fisk’s imposing figure, dressed in a black suit, stands before a stark white painting.

So that’s your main lineup. Here’s the best part though – when asked about possible crossovers with the cinematic universe or Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Loeb said: “It’s all connected, man.” It might just be wishful thinking, but I’m taking that as a firm “yes.”
