Singer Cerys Matthews paid tribute to famed war correspondent Marie Colvin by singing Bob Dylan's peace anthem BLOWIN' IN THE WIND at her memorial on Wednesday (16May12).
Colvin, of Britain's Sunday Times, was killed in a blast in Syria in February (12) after a shell hit the house where she was staying in Homs while reporting on the bloody uprising in the country.
Her friends, relatives and colleagues gathered at St Martin-in-the-Fields church in London to celebrate her life, and Matthews honoured Colvin by performing the classic Dylan track, as well as Willie Nelson's Crazy.
The Catatonia star later took to her Twitter.com page to reflect on the remembrance ceremony and to praise heroic Colvin.
She tweeted, "I keep thinking about Marie Colvin and this morning's memorial service. It was both heart warming and thought provoking. What a remarkable person."
