It's been almost six weeks since Celine Dion said her final farewell to husband and manager Rene Angelil, and while she's been a picture of grief throughout this trying time, yesterday she was finally ready to take to the stage once again for her first performance since his death.

On Tuesday (February 23rd 2016), the 'My Heart Will Go On' singer returned to The Colosseum stage at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas to pay a musical tribute to her husband who died of cancer on January 14th. The first 20 minutes of the performance was live streamed for all fans to see, and it was no doubt one of the most emotional concerts Dion has ever had to host.

The show kicked off with an inspirational quote from the singer herself in memory of Angelil. 'I understood that my career was in a way his masterpiece, his song, his symphony. The idea of leaving it unfinished would have hurt him terribly. I realized that if he ever left us, I would have to continue without him, for him', the quote read. And it was with that that she kicked things off with 'With One More Look At You/Watch Closely Now'.

She also sang 'Where Does My Heart Beat Now' and 'Because You Loved Me', and gave an emotional speech about her relationship with her husband. 'René is the only man that I have known all my life', she said. 'He always made me feel that we were on our first date, isn't that amazing? Never talking bluntly, and always impressing himself in a soft and gentle way. We were one. And nothing has changed we will always be one.'

Rene Angélil passed away last month at the age of 73 after a long struggle with throat cancer. If this wasn't tragic enough for Dion, she lost her brother just two days later at the age of 59 when he succumbed to the same illness.
