Catherine Zeta-Jones ''hates'' Michael Douglas' beard.

The 70-year-old actor grew facial hair for his role as scientist Dr. Hank Pym in 'Ant-Man' but admitted his wife - with who he has children Dylan, 14, and 12-year-old Carys - couldn't wait for filming to be over so he would be smooth-skinned again.

Michael admitted: ''She hates it. Absolutely hates it... Baby, take a look at this beard for the last time, I'm going to shave it off.''

While Catherine is unimpressed with her husband's appearance, their son is incredibly excited by the veteran actor's latest role.

He admitted in an interview with 'Extra': ''My 14-year-old son Dylan thinks I've never done anything in my life before 'Ant-Man'. That's the only way I'm getting him through the ninth grade is by promising he can go to the premiere.''

And Michael - who battled tongue cancer in 2010 - had a wonderful time working alongside Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly on the movie and is grateful for the good things in his life.

He said: ''I'm having a gas. The fact that you're feeling good, cancer-free... working on fun stuff. What more can you ask for?''

And the 'Wall Street' star - who also has 36-year-old son Cameron with ex-wife Diandra - makes sure he finds the time to exercise between working and spending time with his family.

Asked if he works out, he replied: ''Of course I do, my father [actor Kirk Douglas] is 98 and the only thing he says is the cause is working out.''
