Carly Rae Jepsen probably wants this week to end, quickly. On Monday (July 23, 2012), the breakout singer was forced to deny speculation that she features in a sex-tape currently being shopped around various news outlets. Sure, her fans thought, it couldn't possibly be Carly in the video.
Now they may not be so sure. According to Tmz.com, Jepsen has contacted the police claiming that nude snaps had been stolen from her computer. The 'Call Me Maybe' singer told police officials that she's been the victim of theft and desperately wants the perpetrator caught before the images get out. According to the celebrity website, Jepsen, 26, has been aware of the hack since March when an anonymous source tipped her off that the photographs were being offered to various websites. The singer immediately called the Vancouver Police Department to report the crime and officials say an investigation is currently underway "in regards to a theft of electronic property belonging to Jepsen".
Should the suspect be caught, they could face charge of criminal harassment and unauthorized access of a computer, resulting in jail time. Blogger Perez Hilton has already pointed out the resemblance of Jepsen and the woman featuring in the sex tape, though the singer is adamant it is not her, saying, ""Crazy morning. Discovered that someone put up a sex tape claiming to be me.Ridiculous. Obviously not me".
