British model Cara Delevingne has been selected to be the face of Topshop’s latest campaign.

A series of photographs have been released with the 21 year old modelling the brand’s Autumn and Winter collection for this year. Cara posted a series of twelves snaps on her Instagram page, and Topshop made the announcement shortly afterwards.

With the model’s substantial following on Twitter, which currently stands at over 1.75 million, it’s a significant coup for Topshop in publicity terms. In the past, the model has landed solo campaign spots for Burberry, Chanel and DKNY among others, and the Topshop deal represents two British icons joining forces for the first time.

Topshop’s creative director Kate Phelan described Delevingne as “a true Topshop girl”, adding "her style is confident and playful and she can be sophisticated and chic as easily as she can be cool and casual.”

It’s been a busy twelve months for Cara, even outside of her extensive modelling duties. In 2014 alone she has starred in three movies – British films The Face of an Angel and Kids In Love, plus American drama London Fields based on the novel by Martin Amis. She’s even starred in a computer game, as the voice of a DJ on one of the fictional radio stations on Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V in September last year. It was also revealed this week that Cara was told by her parents to move out of their home as they no longer want to put up with her huge wardrobe.
