Camila Cabello has revealed using her middle name has given her more ''confidence'' as a performer.

The 20-yea-old singer has released 'Havana' - a mini-film about her own life - in which she plays the parts of shy and reserved Karla, her actual first name, and ''video vixen'' Camila, with both of them coming from very real parts of her personality.

In a behind-the-scenes clip for the film, the former Fifth Harmony star explained: ''My family always called me Camila. When I came to school in the Untied States, I was really, really shy and the teachers started calling me Karla.

Camila Cabello of Fifth Harmony fame has gripped the world with her telenovela style music video for her latest single 'Havana' featuring Young Thug. It's equal parts hilarious and inspiring, with an important message in support of the recently rescinded immigration policy for minors.

The video has been directed by Dave Meyers and co-stars YouTube personality Lele Pons, social media star LeJuan James and Noah Centineo from 'The Fosters'. It begins with a woman (played by Camila Cabello) in a telenovela who catches her lover Juan in bed with her best friend and the maid, only to find that the real Juan is actually hiding in the closet waiting to propose to her and the guy in bed is actually his twin brother Rodrigo.

Camila Cabello was a One Direction ''superfan''.

The 20-year-old singer has admitted she once ''cried'' over a shoe that was thrown into the audience by band member Niall Horan at one of the 'History' hitmakers' shows in Miami.

Asked about her own experiences of being a fan and why she thinks that makes her relatable to her own fans, the former Fifth Harmony member said: ''I was a One Direction superfan, I even had my Twitter account dedicated to them. I remember that two months before auditioning for 'The X Factor', I saw their show in Miami and Niall [Horan] threw a shoe to the audience, and when the concert ended, a group of girls and me were crying for the shoe.

Fifth Harmony's upcoming album is their ''most genuine'' yet.

The girl group - which includes Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui - are releasing their next LP in late August and they have teased that it will be very ''authentic''.

Ally said: ''We are doing so incredible. We are the happiest we've ever been and so many exciting things are happening for us right now. So we're just doing incredible.''

The 'Crying In The Club' hitmaker is currently working on her first LP since leaving Fifth Harmony and has revealed it is already in the ''mixing stages''.

Fifth Harmony ''did everything'' in their power to make the band work after Camila Cabello's exit.

The future of the group - comprised now of Normani Kordei, Lauren Jauregui, Ally Brooke and Dinah Jane Hansen - was thrown up into the air last year when the 20-year-old singer announced she was leaving them in order to release solo material, but they have admitted there was no chance they were going to let things fall apart because of one member's departure.

Former Fifth Harmony star Camila Cabello has revealed that she was one of the first people who spoke to Ariana Grande in the aftermath of the terrorist atrocity in Manchester last week.

20 year old Cabello, who departed the girl-band Fifth Harmony after just over four years back in December 2016, appeared on ‘This Morning’ in Britain on Wednesday (May 31st) and revealed that she tried to comfort Grande in the wake of the attack, which happened at the end of Ariana’s gig at Manchester’s MEN Arena last Monday.

It comes just one day after the girlband announced she had left the group with a somewhat shady-sounding statement, in which they claimed they had been “informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony.”

But posting a lengthly response on Twitter, Camila said she was shocked by the band’s statement, which had been posted without her knowledge, and that she did not use a representative to inform them she was leaving the group.
