Shooting has already begun on the adaptation of E.L. James' erotic novel 'Fifty Shades of Grey' in Vancouver, Canada.

But casting news keeps being released and the latest is Callum Keith Rennie, known for 'Battlestar Galactica', is cast as Anastasia Steele's stepfather, Ray Steele, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The 53 year-old will join Jamie Dornan (Christian Grey) and Dakota Johnson (Anastasia Steele), who are in the leading roles, and will play the ex-husband of Anastasia's mother whom she regards as her 'real father' and eventually meets Mr Grey at her college graduation.

Rita Ora was also recently cast as the role of 'Mia Grey', the adopted sister of the billionaire lead character Christian Grey.

Other cast members include, Luke Grimes (Elliot Grey), Eloise Mumford (as Anastasia's best friend Kate Kavanagh) Max Martini (Grey's bodyguard) and Jennifer Ehle (Anastasia's mother, Carla Wilkes) to name a few, with Sam Taylor-Johnson directing.

Filming is underway and fans got their first glimpse of Christian and Anastasia together on the cover of Entertainment Weekly for its Nov 22nd issue.

Johnson discussed what preparations she underwent to prepare for the role, "Obviously, I want to look good naked," she said. "I totally understand now why people exercise, because it kind of f--king feels awesome."

Whereas Dornan admitted the eroctic nature of the story wasn't too much of a shock, "I'm a fairly worldly guy," the 31-year-old said. "I grew up in a very liberal place. I'm not saying we had a playroom, but I'm not shocked by [the sex in the book]. It's essential to tell the story. I can't believe films that don't invoke the sexual side of it. So it works for me."

The adaptation is slated for a release date of February 13th 2015.
