Director Bryan Singer has denied allegations of sexual assault against a 17 year old boy detailed in a new lawsuit.

This latest revelation comes less than a week after Singer was fired by Fox from his role as director of the much-anticipated Freddie Mercury and Queen biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody.

A man named Cesar Sanchez-Guzman alleged in court documents filed earlier this week and obtained by Deadline that he was sexually assaulted during a yacht party back in 2003 by Singer, the director of the recent X-Men film series and the likes of Superman Returns and Valkyrie.

The 52 year old director has subsequently denied the allegations, the same reports indicate.

The filing states the alleged incident occurred 14 years ago during a party on a yacht, owned by Lester Waters, who the suit noted was “a wealthy tech investor who frequently hosted parties for young gay males in the Seattle area”. Singer then allegedly offered to give Sanchez-Guzman a tour of the boat.

“During this tour, Bryan Singer lured Cesar into a room, shut the door and demanded that Cesar perform oral sex. When plaintiff refused, Bryan Singer forced him into acts of oral and anal sex,” the court document alleges.

It continues by alleging that Singer told Sanchez-Guzman that he would help him get ahead in the world of acting as long as he kept silent about what had happened. He also reportedly said that he could hire people to ruin his reputation if he went public with it.

Sanchez-Guzman is therefore seeking damages for “emotional distress, mental anguish, physical and mental pain and suffering, a decrease in his ability to enjoy life” as well as past and future medical and legal expenses.

On Monday (December 4th), Fox announced that Singer had been dropped as director of its much-troubled Freddie Mercury biopic, starring ‘Mr. Robot’ actor Rami Malek in the lead role, citing Singer’s failure to turn up for work. The director then told The Hollywood Reporter that Fox sacked him after they refused to let him take time off from the film “to temporarily put my health, and the health of my loved ones, first”.
