Actress Brooke Shields has spoken of her admiration of George Michael, whom she dated in the 1980s.
Brooke Shields was convinced she'd found true love with George Michael because he took their relationship so slowly.
The 'Suddenly Susan' actress dated the gay singer in the 1980s and at the time, she was convinced that she was in love with George, who she described as a ''remarkable, respectful and patient gentleman''.
In her new book, entitled 'There Was a Little Girl: The Real Story of My Mother and Me', Brooke - who was still a virgin at the time the pair were dating - reflected: ''Nobody had ever been willing to move so slowly. It must be love.''
Brooke, 49, revealed that their first date took place on the rooftop of a hotel in Chicago, and she says she was especially appreciative of the fact that George treated her with such respect.
She shared: ''He left without even trying to kiss me. I was so touched by what a real gentleman he was.
''I thought he was a remarkable, respectful and patient gentleman who was obviously aware of my hesitance regarding sex.''
Brooke, who was 19 at the time, went on a few more dates with George, before they decided to go their separate ways.
