In the latest viral Ice Bucket Challenge to hit the web, a group of six nuns dressed in their traditional habits and red robes drench each other in icy water after hearing about the hugely popular charity internet craze which was set up to raise money for the ALS Association. Now it seems LITERALLY everybody has done it.

Pop singer Britney Spears has split from her boyfriend David Lucado. The star made the announcement by posting on Twitter "Ahhhh the single life!". A representative later confirmed that she was single again to E! Online.

The couple had been together since 2013 but have now split

Britney has been unlucky in love over the years, divorcing Kevin Federline in 2007 and breaking off her engagement with Jason Trawick in early 2013. She had appeared recently to be happy with Lucado, who works at a law firm and was introduced to Britney through mutual friends. Back in November, she told Entertainment Tonight "I'm in love. I like the fact that [Lucado is] very stubborn and he's stuck in his ways. He's just a simple man. I adore him. He's really funny and he's really passionate. I love the fact that anything he's involved in he's passionate about and it's contagious."

Oscar-winning Hollywood actress Sandra Bullock has just recently discovered how far some fans will go to come into contact with their idols as a man broke into her Beverly Hills home in the early hours on Tuesday. Britney Spears could be staying in Las Vegas for longer than first thought.

The 32 year-old pop star has reportedly been offered a multimillion dollar deal to extend her residency at Planet Hollywood's Axis theatre, according to NY Daily News.

The casino's bosses apparently want Spears to stay until at least Christmas 2016.

Maybe Britney Spears’ aggressive persona in Work B**** rubbed off on her in real life. A dancer is now suing Brit for battery and negligence, after the star allegedly injured her during the video shoot. According to E!News, Dawn Noel claims that Spears was in a “disheveled and confused state,” when she arrived on set for Work B**** on August 19, 2013. She adds that, "although the choreography involving Britney Spears was fairly basic, she was having difficulty learning the moves, performing dance steps and following simple directions."

The dancer has called into question Britney's professionalism on set.

The lawsuit seems to allege that the injury was not intentional on Spears’ part. Noel says that after about a half hour of rehearsing, Spears "twirled in an unbalanced and reckless manner, arms extended out to her sides and forcefully backhanded" her directly in the face.

The 32 year-old songstress is reportedly being sued for breaking one of her backup dancer's nose in rehearsals.

Congratulations to Jamie Lee Spears and her new husband! Britney’s younger sister just married her beau James Watson on Friday and the pair could not look any sweeter. The couple tied the knot in an intimate setting - at the Audubon Tea Room in New Orleans.

This is 22-year-old Jamie Lynn's very first marriage.

The bride wore a Liancardo gown. Earlier in the day, she was spotted with mom Lynne Spears, heading to a nail salon near the family’s home in Kentwood. Meanwhile, Britney Spears and her boyfriend David Lucanno were apparently spotted on Thursday, catching a flight from Los Angeles to New Orleans, E! News reports.

Britney Spears kicked off her two year residency at Las Vegas' Planet Hollywood Resort on Friday, 27 December, to a packed out crowd that included a number of famous faces, including Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez. Most of the audience members left the auditorium in awe of what they had witnessed, whilst others were left disappointed at the fact that Britney lip synced through parts of her performance.

According to the New York Daily News' 'Confidenti@l' section, Britney had long been planning on lip syncing through parts of her performance and on the debut night she did exactly that on hits like 'Womanizer' and 'Perfume.' The 32-year-old singer performed to a packed-out crowd inside the Axis Theater and went through a number of fast-paced dance routines during some of her more exuberant songs, as well as performing some slower paced number that featured a stripped back routine with little stage action. Apparently Britney lip-synced through both kinds of performances.

Britney Spears begins her two year residency at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Hotel at the end of this month and ahead of her stay, the singer was welcomed to Vegas with a typically tacky show earlier this week. The organisers of her arrival to Planet Hollywood pulled out all the stops for Britney on her trip to see her work base for the next 24 months, as the singer was paraded through the streets of Vegas on her way from the airport to hotel.

The welcoming party began with eight blocks of usually-busy street being closed down especially for her arrival. The closure was put in place to allow an eight-car caravan to deliver Britney to Planet Hollywood, with the route soon teeming with Britney fans, some who held up 'Happy Birthday' signs for the singer, who turned 32 on Monday, 2 December. Fans then got to see a glimpse of the singer as she rode through town in a white 1958 Chevy Impala, parading through the town like a returning hero.

The stream totals just 36 minutes for Britney Jean's 10 songs but there will be an additional 4 songs added to the deluxe version upon the album's release, according to Billboard. Spears' eighth studio album will include her recent hits 'Work B*tch' and 'Perfume.' However, both songs have not been as sky-scrapingly successful as the star perhaps would have liked. Brtiney Spears’s 'Alien' apparently follows in the footsteps of fellow pop star Katy Perry’s 'E.T.' in terms of subject matter. Not so much in terms of sound though. The track was leaked today then promptly removed from YouTube and similar sites due to copyright claims. Before 'Alien' could be pulled, however, plenty of people got the chance to hear it. The track, produced by William Orbit (appropriate for a song called 'Alien'), is a mellow, warm tune, very different from Miss Spears’s previous single, 'Work B***h.'

'Britney Jean' will be out December 3.

Unfortunately those Britney fans, who like to get their music the legal, if a bit more expensive way, won’t be able to hear 'Alien' in full for some time. Of course, the song – along with 'Work B**ch' and any other singles Brit and her management decide to bless us with in the mean time, will also be on Britney Jean, the pop princess’ (or would that be queen at this point?) sixth studio album, due for a December release. This includes the upcoming 'Perfume,' which Spears was spotted filming the video for earlier this week.

E! will air the 90-minute TV special, titled I Am Britney Jean, on Sunday, 22 December at 8 pm, five days before she is due to begin her two-year residency at the Vegas resort. The documentary will pick up as Britney is putting the final touches to her album and follows her as she makes the final preparations for her Vegas showcase. The doc. will also feature a number of interviews with the singer, in what E! claims (via THR) will be her "most candid and revealing interviews ever."

It has been revealed that Spear's songs are being used as a secret weapon to defend cargo ships against the threat of a hijacking by Somali pirates.

Britney Spears has revealed her Britney Jean album cover, attaching a personal letter in which she promises her eighth studio album will be her "most personal record yet". Her letter was handwritten; and her decision to write owing to her need to express herself in more than 140 characters, as on Twitter. Spears further described her album as a "labour of love" and something which "I poured my heart and soul into."

The 31-year-old singer promised fans, in the letter posted on her official website, her album would show "the different sides of Britney Spears." She went on to explain these sides, stating "I am a performer. I am a Mom. I am funny. I am your friend!" Britney Spear has been coy about her upcoming eighth studio release, keeping quiet on the name of the album and what we may expect to find on it, other than her previous single, 'Work Bitch,' that is. On Firday, 25 October, however, Britney decided to start spilling the beans and not only revealed the name of the album, but also uploaded an image of the cover art on to her Twitter page.

Britney Jean is out on 3 December

If this wasn't enough, the singer then went on to upload a hand-written message for her fans on to her official website. In it, she explained the Britney Jean would be her "most personal record" to date. The singer also revealed in the note that the album still isn't finished, but it will be ready in time for the scheduled 3 December release. She insisted that she is "putting the finishing touches" to the album in the coming days and said that the release will be an eclectic one, saying, "I want to show you the different sides of Britney Spears."

Britney Spears has released the artwork for her highly anticipated eighth studio album Britney Jean. It's rather minimalist affair, showing Britney staring intently down the camera lens, while the title of the album is framed in a sort of neon love-heart. It's not the singer's best artwork, though it's certainly not her worst (remember Hit Me Baby One More Time?).

Anyway, Spears released the artwork on her official website with a lengthy letter to fans updating them on the album's progression.

Britney Spears appeared on Channel 4's 'Alan Carr: Chatty Man' this past Friday (Oct 18th) to promote her upcoming album, 'Britney Jean'.

The interview saw the singer cover a range of topics from her love of 99 cent stores, to her heartbreak when she split with Jason Trawick and the raunchy new video for the single 'Work Bitch'.

The host, Alan Carr, asked Britney if she had checked out the UK equivalent to a 99 cent store, called 'Poundland'.

Britney Spears, pop star extraordinaire, is getting flack from Houston radio hosts Roula & Ryan for a recent interview she did for their show. The interview itself has not been aired, but the hosts themselves made the rather extreme decision to tell the story on their show, which led them on a five-minute rant against the singer. 

The hosts claim Britney is far from professional, when it comes to interviews.

The host preface their story by explaining that they hate doing interviews when certain conditions are forced upon them and that Britney’s management limited the “safe” interview questions to just three topics. It doesn’t become all too clear what happened during the interview or what the original questions that the hosts came up with were. However, the hosts’ main complaint seems to be that Spears’ answers were not concise or thorough enough and that she seemed distracted during the chat.

Britney Spears' latest video, for the new single 'Work B*tch,' features bull whips, S&M gear and numerous allusions to sexual mishappenings, and the singer claims that this over-the-top sexualisation of herself isn't being done with her full discretion. In fact, the singer has apparently grown fed up of this über-sexual image that the record industry is trying to impose on her, and she has said that her days in skimpy outfits are over.

Outfit choices like this may soon be a thing of the past as far as Britney is concerned

The 31-year-old mother of two called into Boston radio station AMP 103.3 to talk on The TJ Show on Thursday (3 Oct.), when the conversation turned to her risqué new video. As the talk turned to the 'Work B*tch' video, Britney insisted that the overtly sexual themes in it had gotten out of hand, as she claimed that she was being pushed too far. Britney explained, "A lot of sex goes into what I do. But sometimes I would like to bring it back to the old days when there was like one outfit through the whole video, and you’re dancing the whole video, and there’s like not that much sex stuff going on."
