The shortlist for the 2016 BRITs Critics' Choice Award has been unveiled with three up and coming artists all hoping they could be the next Adele, James Bay or Sam Smith. Frances, Izzy Bizu and Jack Garratt are all nominated for the prestigious prize, with the winner being announced on Friday 27 November.

Izzy Bizu is a 21 year old singer from South London whose debut album A Moment of Madness is set to be released in May of next year. She has already released three singles 'Give Me Love', 'Diamond' and 'Adam & Eve'.

Speaking about her nomination Izzy said: “I’m so honoured to be nominated for the Brits critics’ choice award this year, following in the footsteps of amazingly talented artists like Adele, Emeli Sandé and James Bay so thank you! I grew up watching the Brits on the TV at home so it’s pretty exciting to be a part of it!”

Soul singer Jack Garratt is about to head out on an arena tour with Mumford and Sons starting next month. The 24 year old from Buckinghamshire will release his debut album Phase on February 19th through Island records.

“It’s amazing to be nominated for the Brits’ critics’ choice award 2016,” Garratt said. "It’s such a significant award that highlights the importance of new music, so it’s a genuine honour to have been nominated alongside some other incredible new acts from the UK.”

Singer-songwriter Frances has already collaborated with Disclosure and covered Justin Bieber on on Radio 1’s Live Lounge. The 22 year old from Berkshire counts previous winner Adele as an inspiration as well as Carole King.

“It’s such a huge honour to be nominated for the critics’ choice award. I’ve followed the Brits my whole life, but never thought I’d be lucky enough to be nominated,” Frances commented. “It’s amazing to be a part of something that has included so many of my idols and musical inspirations. An amazing feeling. Thank you.”

The nominees were chosen by a team of experts and narrowed down from a list of over 100 artists across a range of genres. The Brit Awards 2016 will take place on Wednesday 24th February 2016 at London's O2 Arena, where the winner will be presented with a trophy designed by Pam Hogg.
