Bradley Cooper is being lined up to star in 'The Flash'.

The 'A-Team' star is favourite to take on the superhero role in the movie, which is currently being written by Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green.

No director has yet been attached to the film, Deadline.com reports.

Cooper is favourite to get the role of Flash, although Adam Brody has also been linked to the job.

Flash originally appeared in 'Flash Comics 1' in January 1940 and was created by writer Gardner Fox but has seen a number of recreations and in 2009 a six-part mini-series of comics entitled 'The Flash: Rebirth' was released.

Cooper, 35, is currently shooting the sequel to Phil Wenneck's unexpected 2009 hit 'The Hangover', and will next be seen in 'The Dark Fields' alongside Abbie Cornish, Anna Friel and Robert De Niro.

In addition, Guggenheim, Green and Greg Berlanti have also started work on 'Green Lantern 2' with Ryan Reynolds, despite the first instalment of the project not yet being released.
