American Sniper Bradley Cooper talks pots and pans in new movie Burnt
After beefing up for his role in American Sniper, Bradley Cooper and his costar Sienna Miller both headed straight into the kitchen for Burnt, in which Cooper plays a disgraced chef trying to recapture his Michelin-starred glory days.

Not only was it a chance to come down from the physical intensity of American Sniper, but it took him back to his childhood while learning some useful new skills. "When I was a kid I would screw up cooking with my grandmother," he laughs. "It was an Italian family, so cooking was a huge part of it. Being around food is very soothing to me. My grandfather had a garlic business. So basically I'd been doing research since I was a kid!"

His comments come after Jennifer Lawrence's essay on the pay divide in Hollywood attracted support and praise.
Jennifer Lawrence’s recent essay pointing out the gender pay gap in Hollywood was the latest in a series of incidences this year of celebrities highlighting the issue in a high-profile manner. While it has received a warm reception from almost all of Lawrence’s colleagues, her American Hustle co-star Jeremy Renner has said it is “not my job” to assist female actors in negotiating equal pay deals.
44 year old Renner was asked by Business Insider on Tuesday (October 20th) whether he would play an active role in helping female co-stars in negotiating fair deals, he replied: “That’s not my job… …I don’t know contracts and money and all that sort of stuff.”
Jeremy Renner was asked about Jennifer Lawrence's essay
'Burnt' co-stars Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller are among those showing support for Lawrence's essay.
Miller and Cooper, who were interviewed on the red carpet at the premiere of their new movie Burnt on Wednesday (October 14th), both weighed in on the article that Lawrence published via Lena Dunham’s newsletter Lenny the previous day.
33 year old Miller revealed that she once turned down a play because she was offered less than half the pay of her male co-star – in a two-person production. She told E! News that she reluctantly did “what we have to start doing, unfortunately, at the expense of our creative dreams… …I walked away from a play I wanted to do because I was offered less than half of what the other man was offered and it was just the two of us.”
Restauranteering is not a profession that should be taken lightly. Indeed, it's less of a job and more of a way of life for Adam Jones, who has wanted to become the greatest chef the world has ever seen since as long as he can remember. He was just 16-years-old when he left school to go to Paris and achieve his dream; becoming a Michelin star chef infamous across the Parisian culinary scene. But his rise to success came much too soon, and it wasn't long before his dream began to crumble around him, beaten by a life of drugs, violence, and volatile behaviour. With many of his opponents thinking him dead, he returns to London a new man to reignite his passion, earn a third Michelin star, and open the best restaurant in the world. All he needs is a talented team behind him, who is willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

It really pays to be 'Iron Man' for Robert Downey Jr.
The Avengers and Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. has topped Forbes list of the world's highest paid actors for the third year in a row, taking home a massive $80million last year. The star’s ranking was said to have be greatly helped by the Chinese box office, where Downey’s latest offering The Avengers: Age of Ultron grossed $240 million.
Robert Downey Jr has been named the world’s highest paid actor by Forbes magazine.
In the number two spot was Hong Kong born action star Jackie Chan, who raked in an impressive $50 million thanks to the release of Dragon Blade. Following Chan at number three was another somewhat surprising entrant, Vin Diesel, whose role in mega-hit Furious 7 saw him take home $47 million.

British theatre fans rejoiced when they heard that Bradley Cooper was coming to the West End for a limited UK run of 'The Elephant Man'; a seventies play which made its last revival more than 10 years ago. It's safe to say the UK audience were left just as satisfied as the Broadway spectators, and just as emotionally drained.
I've never seen the play in the past, so my only point of reference was David Lynch's iconic black and white 1980 biopic, which explored the life of John Merrick in all its harrowing destitution. Having recently watched the spectacular revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Cats' and been shocked by how unfamiliar the characters felt, I was therefore left completely gobsmacked when Bradley Cooper opened his mouth and John Hurt's voice came out - totally spot on. All the familiarity you could ask for from a revival play. And his was the only British accent from an American actor during the entire play that never faltered; a remarkable feat given the acute discomfort he must've been feeling throughout.
The play is famous for its avoidance of a mask to imitate the extreme deformity of John Merrick, and so Cooper was forced to maintain an unpleasantly contorted face, stance, gait and hand throughout his time on stage; such dedication that becomes starkly astounding when you try it yourself for just five minutes. There was some initial disappointment when you realised there'd be no Hallowe'en mask, but that dissipated almost immediately - along with the initial chuckles over Cooper's funny face. By the end, you were convinced that the actor was indeed suffering with the same debilitating defects, so when his visage snapped back to the usual handsome features during the standing ovation, it was a startling switch back to reality.
Joy Mangano always wanted to be an inventor and, after getting married, having three children and then getting divorced, she finally decides to follow her dream. It's often the male entrepreneurs that people remember in history, but Joy proves that women can be just as powerful as she rises to become president of her own company, Ingenious Designs, and invents the cutting edge cleaning system, 'Miracle Mop'; all while taking care of a family on her own and running into some difficult circumstances along the way. Betrayed, occasionally on the wrong side of the law and suffering from many losses, Joy is the living embodiment of what doesn't kill you makes you stronger - and with millions of dollars in sales, she's certainly stronger.

Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt are set to team up in 'Passengers’ and their wages are as out of this world as the film’s plot.
Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt are set to co-star in a sci-fi romance, Passengers. The upcoming movie is reportedly in pre-production at Sony and will be directed by Morten Tyldum, the Oscar nominee best known for directing the Imitation Game.
Jennifer Lawrence will star opposite Chris Pratt in Passengers.

The film has been savaged by critics, as well as coming under fire for its lack of racial diversity.
Director Cameron Crowe has responded to the backlash over the casting of Emma Stone as a part-Asian character in his latest film Aloha. The film and the director received substantial criticism online when it was found that Stone’s character, Captain Allison Ng, was a quarter Hawaiian and a quarter Chinese, leading the director to apologise for casting the actress.

Writing on his website The Uncool on Tuesday, Crowe offered a lengthly apology in a blog post titled ‘A Comment on Allison Ng’. “Thank you so much for all the impassioned comments regarding the casting of the wonderful Emma Stone in the part of Allison Ng,” the director wrote. “I have heard your words and your disappointment, and I offer you a heart-felt apology to all who felt this was an odd or misguided casting choice.”
Having become one of the biggest movie stars in the business, Cooper has been setting his sights on the world of theatre, taking on the role of Joseph Merrick in 'The Elephant Man'.
He may be one of the most in-demand actors in Hollywood at this moment in time, but Bradley Cooper has been getting in touch with his thespian side of late, currently starring in a Broadway revival of ‘The Elephant Man’ that’s currently occupying London’s West End, and winning good reviews to boot.
Some people may be surprised to see the 40 year old three-time Oscar nominee “slumming it” in tiny London theatres, but his lead role as Joseph Merrick has been getting good critical notices. Written by Bernard Pomerance and first staged in 1977, the role has formerly been performed by a certain David Bowie. No pressure there, then.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will certainly be this weekend’s box office champ after Bradley Cooper’s ‘Aloha’ bombs.
After taking a massive $18.2 million on Friday, including $3.1m after Thursday previews, earthquake disaster movie San Andreas, starring Dwayne Johnson, looks on course to take $48 million this weekend. The disaster flick is way ahead of Bradley Cooper rom-con Aloha which also opened this weekend and suffered dismal reviews from the critics.
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson stars in disaster flick San Andreas.
According to Forbes, San Andreas crushed the competition on Friday and is now on course for a weekend debut as high as $48 million, with audiences giving the movie a resounding thumbs up. It seems US audiences can’t help but be enthralled by the idea of The Rock taking on an earthquake and the box office receipts will speak for themselves.
Following criticism towards the diversity of the cast after the trailer dropped and unfortunate reactions from the production team during the Sony Hacking Scandal, the stars of 'Aloha' are promoting the film.
'Aloha', the new film from Cameron Crowe ('Almost Famous', 'Jerry Maguire'), opens this weekend in North America, and arrives in cinemas amid controversy and middling reviews. The film stars Bradley Cooper as a military contractor sent to Hawaii, where he falls for Emma Stone's Air Force pilot.

Critics have called it charming but meandering and unfocussed. But the problems began at the end of last year, when the Sony hackers released a memo in which the studio's chair Amy Pascal wrote about the film: "I'm never starting a movie again when the script is this ridiculous.... It never not even once works."

Bradley Cooper's recent Tony Award nomination came as a surprise to him.
He may be one of Hollywood's most bankable male leads, with three Oscar nominations in as many years for his acting, but the ever-modest Bradley Cooper was apparently surprised to be recently shortlisted for Broadway's highest honour.
Bradley's making a big impact on Broadway
He has been nominated for a Tony Award in the category of Best Leading Actor in a Play, for his performance in Broadway's production of The Elephant Man. Speaking to USA Today about the news, he said "[I'm] very surprised. It's a nice boost of confidence."
Currently nominated for Best Original Score Written For The Theatre, rock legend Sting appeared at the 2015 Tony Nominees reception held at the Paramount Hotel in New York, unusually sporting a beard. The singer composed the score for the nautical England set play 'The Last Ship'.
The stars of Broadway's 'The Elephant Man' Bradley Cooper, Alessandro Nivola and Patricia Clarkson were spotted laughing and joking together on the red carpet as they arrived for the Meet the 2015 Tony Nominees reception which was held at the Paramount Hotel in New York.
The awards will take place on June 7 from Radio City Music Hall and will air live on CBS.
‘The Good Wife’s’ Alan Cumming and actress Kristin Chenoweth have been announced as the hosts of the 2015 Tony Awards, which take place on June 7th. The pair are no strangers to the Tonys, having both picked up awards in previous years.
Alan Cumming will host the Tony Awards alongside Kristin Chenoweth.
Cumming won a Best Actor in a Musical Award for his performance in Cabaret at the 1998 Tonys, while Chenoweth won Best Featured Actress in a Musical a year later in 1999, for You're A Good Man Charlie Brown. Chenoweth was also nominated for Best Actress in a Musical in 2004 for her role as the original Glinda in Wicked.
'The Maze Runner' and 'Neighbors' also scooped awards.
It's difficult to argue with the results of this year's MTV Movie Awards victors, who took home their much-deserved accolades on Sunday (April 12th 2015). The top prize of Movie Of The Year went to Josh Boone's adaptation of the John Green novel 'The Fault In Our Stars' - but who else won big at the 2015 ceremony?
Shailene Woodley took home a couple of awards herself; first for Best Female Performance in 'The Fault In Our Stars', and second for Best Kiss with Ansel Elgort. 'The Maze Runner' star Dylan O'Brien also won big, landing Breakthrough Performance, Best Hero and, of course, Best Fight with Will Poulter. O'Brien will reprise his role in the upcoming sequel 'Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials'. Meanwhile, Zac Efron's abs in 'Neighbors' predictably won him Best Shirtless Performance, while his onscreen chemistry with Dave Franco made them Best Duo. 'Neighbors' was also the winner of Best WTF Moment, with Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne taking home the award.

Bradley Cooper could be directing Beyonce in a movie. Think about that.

The ending used in 'American Sniper' was one of five alternatives thought up by Eastwood and screenwriter Jason Hall.
Clint Eastwood and the team behind the box-office smash American Sniper changed the movie's ending following a request from the widow of Chris Kyle. The final scene showed the death of the US navy seal Chris Kyle though it was changed after screenwriter Jason Hall received a telephone call from Taya Kyle.

Harvey Weinstein is stepping up his Oscars campaign for 'American Sniper'.
In a late bid to expunge any lasting doubts of American Sniper ahead of the Oscars this month, Harvey Weinstein has gone out on the attack in response to those critical of Clint Eastwood's drama. The film's subject, sniper Chris Kyle, has been called a "hate-filled killer" and the movie has been criticised in some circles for its flag waving.
