New 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' Trailer: What We Noticed

Chris Pratt Zoe Saldana Bradley Cooper Vin Diesel Glenn Close Dave Bautista Josh Brolin James Gunn John C Reilly Karen Gillan Benicio Del Toro

Prepare to check out the new trailer for the upcoming summer blockbuster, Guardians of the Galaxy, which is due to open from the end of July. James Gunn's visualisation of Marvel's lesser-known comic book series recruits a stellar cast in an outer space setting with jaw-dropping special effects and rib-tickling one-liners.

Chris Pratt takes the lead alongside Zoe Saldana, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Josh Brolin, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close Benicio Del Toro and Dave Bautista in what looks to be one of the action highlights of summer 2014.

In a nutshell, Pratt's adventurer, Peter Quill, gets stranded in space and unites a team of unlikely ex-con aliens in order to mount a defence against the cosmic threat of Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Trailer

Peter Quill runs into some trouble when he discovers an unusual looking orb that happens to be hunted by the merciless admiral Ronan and his army of miscreants. He is an Earthling; an unusual race within his neighbourhood in which he grew up after being removed for his home planet as a child. Naming himself the Star-Lord, he likes to think he's one heck of a superhero - but he's about to meet his match (or should we say 'matches'?). After being arrested by Ronan's people, he is greeted by four other alien outlaws. First there is the enormous Drax the Destroyer who is determined to use his supernatural strength to avenge his murdered family; then there's cyborg Gamora, the daughter of Thanos (an even bigger villain in this story); Rocket, a psychotic gun-toting raccoon; and half-man half-tree Groot. They may be distrustful of each other, but they've got to stick together if they want to save the universe from certain annihilation.

Since when did superhero films have to be serious? Marvel apply comedy to comics with 'Guardians Of The Galaxy', which is based on the original comics by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning. The movie has been directed  by James Gunn ('Super', 'Slither', 'PG Porn') and co-written by Nicole Perlman and is due for UK release on July 31st 2014.

Is Bradley Cooper The 'Master Manipulator' In Jennifer Esposito's Memoir?

Bradley Cooper Jennifer Esposito

Bradley Cooper’s 2007 marriage to Jennifer Esposito was so short it didn't really seem worth taking about. Until now that is. In Jennifer’s Way, the actress’ recent autobiography, she speaks of one particularly bad relationship where she labels her ex a ‘master manipulator’. While the ex in question is never named, all signs seem to point towards one Bradley Cooper as the man in question.

Bradley Cooper Oscars 2014Bradley Cooper was married to Jennifer Esposito for five months in 2007

Back in 2006, Jennifer Esposito was starring in sitcom ‘Related’ on The WB network, previously she’d been known for her role as Stacey, the secretary of Michael J Fox’s Deputy Mayor on ‘Spin City’. As for Bradley, his Hollywood career was just beginning to blossom, having starred in ABC’s ‘Alias’ for five seasons and hitting the big screen in Wedding Crashers. When the pair became an item in 2006 they kept things low key, to the point that when asked about their rumoured romance on that year's Golden Globes red carpet Esposito simply said, "I'm not answering that."

"Guardians Of The Galaxy": Meet The World's Most Dangerous Raccoon (And The Voice Behind Him)

The Guardians of the Galaxy trailer has been out for a week now – plenty of time to get acquainted with the rag tag band of misfits, who call themselves the Guardians. These aren’t your regular superheroes we’re talking about here. And despite the fact that the team includes a green alien assassin and a treelike humanoid, the Guardian getting the most flack has to be Rocket. You know, the raccoon?

Rocket Racoon
Rocket, looking cooler than any racoon ever could.

Rocket Racoon didn’t get a lot of screentime in the trailer – presumably the visual gag of him being, you know, a raccoon, was enough to make people remember him.

Chris Pratt Zoe Saldana Bradley Cooper Vin Diesel Lee Pace Karen Gillan

By now nobody is questioning Disney and Marvel’s decision to invest in the Avengers franchise. It started out a bit rough - 2008’s The Incredible Hulk is still a mostly ignored part of the cinematic universe – but by Iron Man 3, the series was grossing billions. Now that Marvel is on sure footing and the cinematic universe has an established fanbase, the studio is making the next move with Guardians of the Galaxy.

On Tuesday the studio released a trailer and it looked like a hot mess. Granted, a hot mess featuring Chris Pratt, but there was also a talking raccoon. It had the unmistakable feel of an 80s sci-fi flick. On that note, here’s what you need to know about GotG’s bunch of A-holes for this movie to make any sense.

Jennifer Lawrence Stained 'American Hustle' Dress With Doritos!

Jennifer Lawrence Bradley Cooper Christian Bale Jeremy Renner Amy Adams Michael Wilkinson

For most of us, white dresses tend to be avoided due to the catastrophic stains which inevitably and quite magically appear all over the material and which are, quite inexplicably, impossible to scrub out. Fortunately, we're not the only ones and even the terribly glamorous and confident Jennifer Lawrence is not immune from destroying her wardrobe, even on a film set.

American Hustle
The cast of American Hustle, Jennifer Lawrence's pristine white dress can be seen on the far right.

Lawrence's white dress in American Hustle was the victim of Doritos stains and on more than one occasion. As a result, the film's costume designer Michael Wilkinson was forced to make a number of dresses for the clumsy star. Wilkinson, who is nominated for an Oscar for his work on American Hustle, was recently interviewed by Vanity Fair and he joked about Lawrence's junk food habits. He said "Jennifer Lawrence is a very, let's say, raw and intuitive young lady, and she's not against eating Doritos and snack food in her costume. So we were glad that we had a couple [of backups]."

And while their roles in American Hustle can’t be described as dominant, neither are they submissive and meek. Lawrence plays a housewife – an odd sentence to follow up an opening paragraph that hints at forward thinking and equality – but that she does.

American Hustle Review

Essential

David O. Russell deploys his deranged genius to explore the real events behind Abscam, cleverly focussing on the inter-relationships rather than the details of the elaborate sting operation. So under the wild 1970s hair and costumes, we have a series of characters who are never very likeable but are still hugely engaging. Which makes this one of the most prickly, exhilarating movies of the year.

As the opening caption says, "Some of this actually happened". It's set in 1978 New York, where lowlife conman Irving (Bale) is making a decent living with his girlfriend Sydney (Adams). Although his wife Rosalyn (Lawrence) knows something is up. Things get even more complicated when Irving and Sydney are cornered by FBI agent Richie (Cooper) and forced to co-operate in a complex scam to entrap mobsters and dirty politicians, including the likeable Mayor Polito (Renner), with whom Irving strikes up a friendship. As things develop, the sting continually threatens to spin crazily out of control. And Irving starts to worry that Sydney is getting far too close to Richie.

Intriguingly, even as the story gets more and more insane, Russell keeps the story grounded in the characters and the way they interact with each other. So their shifting relationships, power struggles and internal jealousies take centre stage, blurring the details of the undercover operation into the background. This may annoy viewers who want clear insight into Abscam, but it makes the movie much more involving. And it gives the actors a lot to work with. Each of them delivers a powerhouse performance that blends the character's distinct physicality with a complex inner life.

Irving Rosenfeld is a conman whose impressively deft criminal exploits have eluded authorities for years. However, when he finds himself forced to use his talents for good as he is roped into an FBI sting operation led by the unhinged agent Richie DiMasom, he finds his life of partying, drinking and squandering money under massive threat. He must use his fraudulent cunning to reveal the seriously corrupt crusades of Carmine Polito, the Mayor of Camden, New Jersey, whose power cast spreads much further than his constituency. Irving is helped by the seductive but dangerous Sydney Prosser who soon becomes less of a business partner and more of a mistress. As their relationship deepens, however, they arouse the suspicions of Irving's gregarious but unbalanced wife Rosalyn who threatens their whole operation with her lethal jealousy and deadly rage.

'American Hustle' is a high-stakes gangster thriller directed and co-written by the Oscar nominated David O. Russell ('Silver Linings Playbook', 'I Heart Huckabees', 'Three Kings') alongside writer Eric Singer ('The International'). Featuring a talented award-winning cast (some of whom O'Russell has previously worked with with much success), the flick is set to hit the big screen on December 18th 2013 in the US.

David O'Russell Teaming Up With Jennifer Lawrence And Bradley Cooper Once Again For Gritty "American Hustle"

Jennifer Lawrence Christian Bale Bradley Cooper Robert De Niro

So by now we should all agree that Jennifer Lawrence can play any character, right? She’s equally believable as the teenage leader of a rebellion, as a mentally unstable 20-something widow and now, as a bored New Jersey housewife in the newly released clip from David O’Russell’s American Hustle.

Jennifer Lawrence, Catching Fire Premiere
So Lawrence can play anything, right?

The clip shows 23-year-old Lawrence star opposite Christian Bale, who apparently plays a low-rent con man. The film is set in the 70s and is something of a Silver Linings Playbook reunion. Besides featuring Lawrence and being directed by Silver Linings’ O’Russell, American Hustle’s cast also includes Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper, according to MTV News. Rounding out the cast is Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner, with supporting performances from Louis C.K., Michael Pena and Jack Huston.

Lynne Ramsay Sued By Movie Bosses After Ditching Natalie Portman Western

Lynne Ramsay Natalie Portman Ewan McGregor Michael Fassbender Jude Law Bradley Cooper

Lynne Ramsay is being taken to court by the producers of the oft-troubled Western Jane Got Her Gun, starring (supposedly at least) Natalie Portman. Ramsay walked out on the project a day before shooting was scheduled to begin, placing the picture in limbo until a replacement was eventually found. The lawsuit goes on to claim that Lynne was drunk and abusive on the set.

Lynne Ramsay
Ramsay reportedly left the project the day before shooting was due to begin

The court papers, acquired by The Hollywood Reporter, were filed in a New Mexico court this week and state that Ramsay was paid $750,000 to work on the screenplay for the film and direct, but she dropped out of the project at the last minute without warning. The producers are now claiming that her sudden abandoning of the project was not off character either, as the Scottish director was supposedly highly unprofessional on set, drinking and abusing staff before filming had even begun.

American Hustle - International Trailer

Whilst running a con, being anonymous is very important. Keeping past operations secret and your personal life out of reach from potential targets is just as important as running the actual hustle. For years Irving Rosenfeld has been a con at the top of his game, evading arrest by the police and capture by past marks but all that could quite easily change when he and his business partner, Sydney Prosser, are recruited by an unruly FBI officer Richie DiMaso.

The target Rosenfeld has to hit is one even cons wouldn't usually mess with, an elected mayor the FBI believe to be dirty. Mafia connections and lots of Laundered money are the least of Rosenfeld worries, when his wife might just become an accidental chink in their armour.

Set in the 1970's the films screenplay was written by Eric Warren Singer and David O. Russell and is loosely based on a real sting operation named Abscam which lead to the arrest and conviction of a number of elected officials.

Mystery Over Muscle: Benedict Cumberbatch Beats Gosling And Cavill In Sexiest Movie Star Poll

Benedict Cumberbatch Henry Cavill Ryan Gosling Bradley Cooper Tom Hiddleston Emma Watson

Benedict Cumberbatch has been crowned sexiest movie star in an unlikely turn of events whereby he raced ahead of typical heartthrobs Henry Cavill, Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper in an Empire poll.

The 'Star Trek Into Darkness' star isn't the most likely sex symbol of Hollywood, but the Brit definitely proved to be best after he was picked by 50,000 more fans than any of the other movie screen hotties. Perhaps the people of the world prefer the mysterious, intelligent look these days - or maybe it's just the accent as 'The Avengers' star Tom Hiddleston came in at second place.

We're surprised at the outcome as 'Man Of Steel' hunk Henry Cavill and 'The Place Beyond the Pines' cutie Ryan Gosling looked like dead certs to receive the honour, with the latter's numerous onscreen romances (we all remember 'The Notebook') and the former's portrayal of Superman, one of the most charming characters ever created.

Lance Armstrong As Hollywood's Latest Character Of The Moment: Bradley Cooper To Produce Warner Bros. Biopic

Bradley Cooper Lance Armstrong

Bradley Cooper is reportedly eyeing the producer spot on an upcoming Warner Bros. project – a biopic about Lance Armstrong. The race to be the first to tell the story of the seven-time Tour de France winner, whose admission to using steroids lead to his defamation and the stripping of his titles, is on. The movie has found a home at Warner Bros. in partnership with Atlas Entertainment and will be directed by Jay Roach, according to Deadline.

Bradley Cooper, The Hangover III Premiere
Cooper has been slated to produce and star in the flick.

Along with a possible producer’s credit, Cooper is reportedly in talks for one of the two major parts in the film – one being that of Armstrong himself and the other - Tyler Hamilton, the former Armstrong teammate who was part of Armstrong’s inner circle on the US Postal Service Team and who came forward and told what he saw Armstrong doing in a 60 Minutes segment. Hamilton is a controversial character, since his admission led to attacks and heated criticism from Armstrong’s camp. Up until his eventual confession, Lance Armstrong had been adamant about the claim that he was not and had not been doping.

The Hangover Part III Review

Bad

For the final instalment of the trilogy, filmmaker Todd Phillips takes a sharp left turn, abandoning the formula of the first two movies to send the Wolf Pack on a road thriller that isn't remotely funny. A few wacky moments are provided by the actors, but there isn't one punchline in the entire film. And it doesn't really work as a thriller either, since there's no real suspense.

Once again it starts in Los Angeles, where everyone has recovered from their antics in Bangkok. But Phil, Stu and Doug (Cooper, Helms and Bartha) are worried that Alan (Galifianakis) is refusing to grow up, so they hold an intervention and set out to drive him to a desert retreat. On the way, they're waylaid by mobster Marshall (Goodman), who holds Doug hostage to force the the Wolf Pack to find renegade nutcase Chow (Jeong), who has stolen Marshall's stash of gold bars. They track Chow to Mexico, but things quickly get even messier as Chow slips through their fingers. And to catch him, they'll have to return to the scene of their original adventure: Las Vegas.

There isn't much to the screenplay, which is a series of action scenes and caper-style set-pieces strung together with rapid-fire dialog and general vulgarity. But while the film is expertly shot and edited, with a solid cast and terrific settings, there simply isn't any actual humour. No one gets drunk, so there's no hangover this time. And the only amusing moments are offhanded character bits that are utterly irrelevant to the nonsensical chaos of the plot. Which kind of makes us wonder why we ever found these losers so hilarious to begin with.

Ewan McGregor Almost Fools Us All With Drastic New Make-Over

Ewan McGregor Natalie Portman Bradley Cooper Jude Law Michael Fassbender

Ewan McGregor is a well-known motorcycle enthusiast, so maybe thats what gave him away when he stepped out of a Beverley Hills salon this week looking almost unrecognisable. The actor, known for his ginger-blonde hair, looked completely different as he was spotted with jet black hair and a same-colour moustache, but still failed to evade the watchful stare of a paparazzi camera lens.

The look is quite the drastic make-over for the Scottish star, but rather than abandoning his ginger/Scottish heritage, the actor does have a reason behind this look; at last we think he does. McGregor is taking on the role of John Bishop, the main antagonist in the upcoming Western Jane Got A Gun, and it is believed his new look is in aid of the performance. Either that or Ewan just fancied a major change to his looks and decided that growing a beard again wouldn't cut it.

Spielberg And Bradley Cooper's 'American Sniper' Has Oscars Written All Over It

Steven Spielberg Bradley Cooper

Steven Spielberg's new movie American Sniper - based on the autobiography of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle - will star Bradley Cooper in the lead role. Kyle, an expert marksman who wrote American Sniper: The Autobiography Of The Most Lethal Sniper In U.S. Military History, was recently gunned down by a discharged vet at a Texas shooting range. Cooper optioned the book himself and Spielberg clearly sees it as a strong enough project for which to get behind the camera.

The movie chronicles Kyle's journey from rodeo cowboy to SEAL chief with the highest number of sniper kills in U.S. military history. The book spent 18 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list and 13 weeks at No.1. Cooper - whose production company 22nd & Indiana Pictures sealed the rights a year ago - appears to be onto a good thing. Obviously, with Spielberg at the helm the film immediately takes on added significance, though Cooper himself has risen to become one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood following his career best Oscar nominated role in Silver Linings Playbook. However, the most significant thing that American Sniper has in its favour in terms of awards potential is that it's very American and very military based. The Academy is a sucker for heavily patriotic stories - see Argo and The Hurt Locker - and should the team behind the movie get the remainder of the cast right, it could be a big player indeed.

The book has been adapted by Jason Hall (Paranoia) who will also serve as executive producer with Spielberg and Cooper.

Spielberg To Direct Bradley Cooper As 'The Most Lethal Sniper In History'

Steven Spielberg Bradley Cooper

Fresh from the success of Lincoln, Steven Spielberg has already decided whose life story he'll bring to the screen next; the former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle who gained recognition from his country for his exploits during the Second Iraqi War. Bradley Cooper has been chosen to star as Kyle in the film, which is based on an adaptation of Kyle's bestselling American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History.

Bradley Cooper will play the lethal Kyle.

The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news, also detailing that Cooper and Spielberg will be producing the film too, alongside Andrew Lazar (Get Smart) and Peter Morgan (The Queen, Frost/Nixon). Jason Hall (Spread) wrote the script. In a recent interview on NPR’s Fresh Air, Cooper said Kyle’s story “really needs to be told, and it’s also relevant on two fronts: gun control and the need to address the many soldiers who are coming back with PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder).”

'American Hustle' Resumes Boston Filming: David O'Russell's Movie Was Halted By Bomb Suspect Manhunt

David O Russell Christian Bale Amy Adams Bradley Cooper

David O’Russell’s latest movie, American Hustle, has resumed filming in Boston, after it was halted due to the city’s lockdown, after last week’s Boston marathon bombings. The Silver Linings Playbook director was filming his forthcoming movie, starring Christian Bale, Amy Adams and Bradley Cooper but was shut down by police on Friday (April 19, 2013) as Boston’s police force embarked on a manhunt for suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, The Guardian reports.

American Hustle tells the story of the FBI’s Abscam sting operation in the late 1970s. The movie’s production team is thought to have been the only one shut down during the manhunt and a spokesperson for Sony’s studio told Deadline that the shoot was due to resume today (April 22, 2013). The movie is loosely based on genuine FBI history and the Abscam sting which led to the conviction of a senator and five members of the US House of Representatives on charges of bribery and conspiracy, between 1978 and 1980.

The 19 year old bombing suspect Tsarnaev was eventually cornered and arrested in the Watertown area of Boston, a day after a shoot-out that left his brother dead. The two siblings had been accused of planting pressure cooker bombs near the finish line of the popular marathon. Three people were killed in the explosion and more than 180 were injured.

The Words Review

Good

Like a Russian nesting doll, this film tells a story within a story within another story, playing around with fact and fiction, as well as the nature of creative inspiration and integrity. These themes are thoroughly engaging, although the film has a nagging familiarity to it because of its cliched story elements. And the structure prevents us from getting properly involved in any of the three story strands.

The main narrator is Clay (Quaid), who is reading from his book The Words, which tells the story of writer Rory (Cooper) and his wife Dora (Saldana), who struggled for five years before his first novel was published to rapturous acclaim from both critics and the public. But out of the shadows emerges an old man (Irons) who knows Rory's secret: he found the manuscript for the novel in a briefcase he bought in a Paris junk shop, then passed it off as his own. So the old man in turn tells Rory his own story, about when he was a younger man (Barnes) in Paris married to a French waitress (Arnezeder).

The layered storytelling lets filmmakers explore quite a few big issues, from the way most novels are based on elements from the writers' lives to the ruthlessness of the publishing industry, in which even the most talented authors struggle to earn a living. But of course, most of the characters in the film are fictional, so we never become very invested in their situations. And the only "real" person is Quaid's cocky, leery Clay, who's engaged in squirm-inducing flirtation with a grad student (Wilde) who stalks him.

Nice Guy Bradley Cooper 'Really Hopes' To Become A Father

Bradley Cooper Jennifer Lawrence Christian Bale

Is Bradley Cooper the nicest guy in Hollywood? The Oscar-nominee is definitely up there. The A-list Hollywood star moved in with his mother following his father's death in 2011, to make it easier on her - they're still living together. "The best way I can answer that is to say we're [my mom and I are] surviving," he told the latest issue of Details magazine, "Both of us. Let's face it: It's probably not easy for her, by the way, to be living with her son. It's life. And right now, two years after my father's death, this is where we are."

The Silver Linings Playbook star nursed his stockbroker father Charles J Cooper through his battle with lung cancer, before watching him die aged 71. "My family is very close, and my dad dying was brutal for all of us," he explains, "It was a schism, and its aftershock has not stopped. And we need each other. So here we are.But don't get me wrong. It's not without complications."

Now, you'd probably assume Cooper - as a multimillionaire - had a huge guesthouse built for his mother. Not so. "She's in the next room. But here's the thing: She's a cool chick. We can hang, and she can roll with the punches. If that wasn't the case, there's no way." As for becoming a father himself, the 38-year-old says "of course", explaining, "I really hope I have that experience in my life.I saw how much joy fatherhood gave my own dad. So I hope it's part of my journey. You go through stages in your life, and fatherhood seems like a natural stage."

Hangover III Trailer Hits The Web: The Wolfpack Return For One Last Outing

Bradley Cooper Zach Galifianakis

So the full-length trailer for the Hangover III has hit the web and other than giving away pretty much the entire plot, it does give some indication that Todd Phillips and the Wolfpack may be able to pull off another raucous comedy outing yet again. As has been the case with all three films really, Alan (Zach Galifianakis) and Chow (Ken Jeong) are the real stars of the show, and if the trailer is anything to go by then the Hangover III will contain all the Alan and Chow than any audience can handle.

Fellow Wolfpack regulars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Justin Bartha are also back, as are Heather Graham and Melissa McCarthy, with John Goodman even making an appearance as the man who sets the pack on their latest adventure. The trailer reveals that, after the death of his dad (and therefore Doug's step-dad) Alan is admitted into a rehabilitation centre to help curb his wild lifestyle. On the way there though the boys are driven off the road by Goodman and his henchmen who demand that they find Chow and bring him to them. Apparently Chow is responsibly for stealing a huge amount of cash from Goodman's character and is now on the run.

Rachel McAdams Joins Cameron Crowe Movie: Is It The New 'Jerry Maguire'?

Rachel McAdams Cameron Crowe Bradley Cooper Emma Stone

Rachel McAdams is in negotiations to join Cameron Crowe's still untitled movie, about a military contractor on a top-secret mission in Hawaii. Bradley Cooper plays the contractor who is teamed with an Air Force pilot, played by Emma Stone. According to Deadline, the film tonally falls somewhere between "Almost Famous" and "Jerry Maguire."

McAdams has signed on for an interesting year - she stars in Terrence Malik's new movie To The Wonder, which looks bizarre, and will feature alongside Noomi Rapace in Brian De Palma's B-movie 'Passion'. Oh, and there's also Anton Corbijn's thriller A Most Wanted Man, which should land on the festival circuit this year. One thing's for sure, McAdams has told her agent that she wants to make arthouse movies.

Cameron Crowe is working with producer Scott Rudin on the new film, which they are making with Sony Pictures. Crowe wrote the script himself and is looking to start principal photography at the beginning of October. The movie should be out midway through 2014, all ready for awards season. By the time it hits theaters, three years will have passed since Crowe's last directorial out, 'We Bought A Zoo'. That movie starred Matt Damon as a father who moves his young family to the countryside to renovate and re-open a struggling zoo, with the help of one Ms Scarlett Johansson. It garnered mixed reviews from critics.

The Hangover III Trailer

Alan Garner is going through real emotional trauma when his beloved father passes away. Following the funeral, his friends Stu, Phil and Doug decide to take him back to Las Vegas to recuperate with the hope that previous experience and lack of upcoming weddings will prevent them from getting into any major trouble again with gangs or escaped wild animals. However, that hope is soon shattered when they are jumped by a brutal gang who demand to know where they can find their flamboyant gangster friend Leslie Chow who has allegedly stole $21 million dollars. As expected, the Wolfpack end up in enormous, but hilarious, trouble yet again which leads them to question their friendship ties and vacation choices. Will the foursome survive Sin City this time round? And will Alan find the peace he's looking for?

The Wolfpack returns in the last instalment of this side-splitting trilogy. Academy Award nominated director Todd Phillips ('Road Trip', 'Due Date') returns once more with the co-writer from 'Part II', Craig Mazin ('Identity Thief', 'Superhero Movie', 'Scary Movie 4'). It looks to be a spectacular end to the film series as the foursome's previous alcohol-fuelled vacations come back to haunt them. It is scheduled for release in UK cinemas on May 24th 2013.

The Place Beyond The Pines Review

Excellent

Mainstream audiences may be disappointed that this isn't a gritty thriller pitting the acting talents of Gosling and Cooper against each other, as it's instead a boldly artful, often moving drama. The three-part structure may soften the emotional punch, but a raw script and intimate direction let the actors find real resonance in every scene.

The title is a loose translation of the Mohawk word Schenectady, the New York town where the story is set. In the first section, carnival stunt rider Luke (Gosling) returns to town and tries to rekindle a previous fling with Romina (Mendes). When he discovers that his last visit produced a son, he decides to leave the circus and settle down, taking a job with a local mechanic (Mendelsohn). To make some extra cash, the two team up to rob banks, which puts Luke on a collision course with beat cop Avery (Cooper), who has a wife (Byrne) and young son of his own. Years later, their now-teen sons Jason and AJ (DeHaan and Cohen) discover a past connection they knew nothing about.

To explore the generational ramifications of these men's actions, the film switches perspective twice, first from Luke to Avery and finally to Jason and AJ. But the script never simplifies anyone into "good" or "bad": these are complex people facing difficult situations the best way they can. And sometimes their choices lead to tragic consequences. With this structure, though, the characters are somewhat fragmented, and only Avery emerges as a fully rounded figure, giving Cooper the best role in the film as he becomes unable to work out what is right and wrong, even though he knows it in his gut.

Hey Jude: Bradley Cooper Just Replaced You In 'Jane Got A Gun'

Bradley Cooper Jude Law Joel Edgerton

Jude Law out, Bradley Cooper in - that's the situation on Western revenge movie 'Jane Got a Gun'. The project appeared to be doomed a few weeks back when it lost its director the day before shooting was due to begin, (a descision that led onto Law quitting the project). Now, things appear to be getting back on track after 1821 Pictures secured the services of Oscar-nominee Cooper.

The Hangover star will play the villain role whilst 'Warrior' director Gavin O'Connor is now directing the movie, which is currently in production in Mexico. It stars Natalie Portman as a woman whose outlaw husband returns home riddled with bullet wounds. She is forced to reach out to an ex-lover and ask if he will help defend her farm. Joel Edgerton, who features in the new Great Gatsby movie with Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan, plays the ex-lover. Michael Fassbender was initially earmarked for the role, though could not fit shooting into his busy schedule for 2013.

Cooper is currently in the middle of shooting David O'Russell's untitled movie, once named American Bulls*it. The film, which boasts a similar cast to that of Silver Linings Playbook, is loosely inspired by the true-life Abscam sting of the late 1970s and early 1980s, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Is Bradley Cooper About To Get Serious With New Squeeze Suki Waterhouse?

Bradley Cooper Suki Waterhouse

She may be 18 years his junior, but Bradley Cooper looks as though he may be getting pretty close to his new squeeze, British model Suki Waterhouse. The pair appeared to be a one-night fling after the model spent the night with hunky Cooper whilst he was in London, but things may be more serious than they first seemed as the actor has flown Waterhouse over to the states so they can spend a little bit more time together.

Bradley Cooper
Bradley Cooper is dating a model 18 years his junior, like a lad.

The potential coupling didn't come without any casualties though, as Waterhouse's now ex Miles Kane was still in a relationship the model when she spent the night with Brad after the Elle Style Awards in the UK capital last month. When The Rascals frontman found out what happened he promptly called time on their relationship, but something tells us that Suke wasn't ruing about his decision for too long considering that she is now believed to be staying with Cooper in Boston while he films his upcoming David O'Russell project.
