George Clooney To Star In Disney's 1952?

George Clooney Brad Bird

Buzz has already been relatively widespread about Disney's upcoming sci-fi 1952, and that buzz is about to get a whole lot louder after it emerged that George Clooney could very well end up as the star of the upcoming picture.

There's already cause for excitement with Brad Bird (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol & Ratatouille) already being the named director, however with no word on who would star in the upcoming project, some people have been sceptical of how the film might pan out, that is until now. Although nothing is official just yet, according to Variety it is believed that Clooney is in talks with Disney about starring in the film, and apparently the company is dead-set on getting him as the lead.

The script is being kept under wraps for now, however it is known that Damon Lindelof (Lost, Prometheus) and Jeff Jensen (also of Lost fame) will be taking care of the screenplay, only these two currently have any idea of what the film will entail.

Ratatouille Review

Essential
A fine red wine only gets better with age. Long before that cork is popped and the first pour hits your favorite wine glass, you already know how great that vintage vino is going to taste. Much like that bottle of wine, the animated films from Pixar Studios keep getting better with time. So how appropriate is it that its latest offering, Ratatouille, is all about delicious food, family and friends, and a glass of wine to wash it all down.

Ratatouille is an intricate dish, infused with energetic and amusing storylines that are all fully cooked and complementary to the film's rich visual look. It's easily the best Pixar creation next to The Incredibles; arguably it's even better. No surprise that Ratatouille is written and directed by Brad Bird, the same mastermind behind The Incredibles. Bird excels at integrating thematic elements that will entertain the youngest and oldest members of the audience alike.

The Incredibles Review

OK

Far less funny and considerably more violent than audiences have come to expect from Pixar movies, "The Incredibles" is the animation studio's first feature to lack the winsome pizzazz that makes for mandatory repeat viewing.

Created by Brad Bird, the writer-director of "The Iron Giant," one of the greatest animated movies of all time, the story revolves around a family of far too sincerely glum superheroes trying hard to live normal suburban lives at a time when frivolous lawsuits have made saving the world cost-prohibitive.

But out of their spandex, they're just a bunch of sitcom clichés. Bob Parr (secretly super-strong do-gooder Mr. Incredible, voiced with idealistic comic-book resonance by Craig T. Nelson) is an irresponsible dad who tries to keep secrets and stupid mistakes from his (literally) stretched-in-every direction wife, Helen (a.k.a. Elastigirl, voiced with adoring irony by Holly Hunter). Their kids are, of course, a hyperactive 8-year-old named Dash (Spencer Fox), who can run 100 mph, and mopey teenage Violet (NPR radio's droll Sarah Vowell), blessed with a gift many junior high girls would kill for -- invisibility.
