Bon Iver have announced that they have cancelled their upcoming tour of Europe that had been due to begin later this month, citing “personal reasons”.

The celebrated indie act, who released their third album 22, A Million in September 2016 to positive reviews from critics and fans, were due to begin their tour of Europe and the UK on January 22nd in Paris and finish up in London on February 20th.

However, a message posted to the group’s official Twitter account on Wednesday (January 4th) said that the group had pulled out of all its live dates on the continent. While all tickets will be refunded, there are no plans to reschedule any of the concerts yet, and nothing more detailed has been advanced as to the “personal reasons”.

Bon Iver have unveiled their third studio album '22, A Million' today featuring 10 tracks you'll barely be able to pronounce. The launch follows the initial release of three tracks from the record, and a performance of the album in full at a festival that Justin Vernon curated.

'22, A Million' is the latest venture from this Wisconsin indie band, who first broke onto the scene in 2008 with their debut album 'For Emma, Forever Ago'. They have since gone on to win two Grammy awards for Best New Artist, and their second album landed them Best Alternative Music Album.

Kanye West makes an unexpected appearance in Francis and the Lights' new video for 'Friends', alongside Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon. He doesn't exactly take centre stage, but it's the sort of performance art the rapper is really into at the moment, though there's no nudity in this visual.

The 'Famous' rapper was joined by Justin Vernon from Bon Ivor and Francis Farewell Starlite of Francis and the Lights for the latter's newest visual effort; a video for his latest tune 'Friends'. Directed by Jake Schreier, it sees Kanye moving his body to the music in a white walled room as Francis Farewell Starlite switches between dancing erratically and walking around, before joining Justin Vernon of Bon Iver in a bizarre but oddly compelling choreographed session.

Internet radio service Pandora has announced its first ever deal with record labels and recording artists.The Californian-based music streaming service unveiled a partnership with independent rights group Merlin that means that labels and artists in the Merlin group, which collectively represents about 10% of the US music market, will have more direct access to Pandora’s listenership.

Under the US-only deal, the Merlin group will be able to access data pertaining to subscribers’ listening habit and recommend new music to them. In return, Pandora will no longer have to pay statutory royalty rates set by the Copyright Royalty Board, instead getting the right to negotiate those rates with the Merlin group itself.
