Disney chairman Bob Iger has announced plans for a sequel to the billion dollar animated movie Frozen. Iger shared the news at a shareholder meeting where the company showed the short feature Frozen Fever to stockholders before it goes out before Kenneth Branagh's Cinderella.

FrozenFrozen 2 will probably break all records. All records.

Frozen broke records in the US to become the highest grossing animated movie of all time. It grossed $400.7 million and $873 million internationally to take over $1.2 billion worldwide. Disney also pushed out a lucrative merchandising line and a stage show is believed to be in development.

"We enjoyed making Frozen Fever so much and being back in that world with those characters," said John Lasseter, who also made the announcement along with the actor Josh Gad, who voiced Olaf the snowman. "Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we're taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that."

Disney is enjoying a wave of success and there's potentially more to come. Earlier this week, the company announced that Tim Burton would direct a live-action remake of the classic animation Dumbo, while Branagh's Cinderella with Lily James hits theaters at the end of the month after scoring stunning reviews.

"In being faithful to the traditional tale interpreted by Disney in their animated 1950 classic, this Cinderella is crisp escapist enjoyment," wrote Nathalie Atkinson of the Globe & Mail.

"As pure of heart as its heroine, "Cinderella" floats across the screen like a gossamer confection, full of elegant beauty and quiet grace," said Betsy Sharkey of the Los Angeles Times.
