Rocker Bob Geldof turned Britain's airwaves blue on Monday (07Feb11) after cursing live on the radio.
The former Boomtown Rats frontman had a guest slot on BBC Radio 5 Live and paid tribute to Thin Lizzy star Gary Moore, who passed away on Sunday (06Feb11).
Geldof likened Moore's music to poetry written by Irish writer William Butler Yeats, before apologising to listeners for the highbrow comparison.
He said, "I apologise for sounding a bit of a t**t."
DJ Nicky Campbell rushed to say sorry for Geldof's slip, while a spokesperson for the station adds: "In a live interview on 5 Live breakfast, Bob Geldof mistakenly used an inappropriate word."
