A Gig By British Rockers Blur Was Halted On Wednesday (10jun15) After A Barrier In Front Of The Stage Collapsed.
The band was performing at the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool, England, just days before their headline set at Britain's Isle of Wight Festival on Saturday (13Jun15), when the accident happened.
The metal barrier came down as the crowd surged forward during the second song of the show, a rendition of the group's classic hit There's No Other Way, and the band stopped playing as security guards rushed to fix it.
Frontman Damon Albarn later attempted to restart the song, but stopped again and left the stage for 10 minutes until the problem had been resolved, according to the BBC.
Albarn then apologised to the crowd, saying, "Sorry about that. At least it won't collapse now", before continuing with the gig. At the end of the show, the singer added, "Thanks again for your patience at the start. It's the worst thing that could have happened. Well, unless something had happened (sic)."
