Fact: The Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney showed off his sporting skills on Tuesday (05Apr16) as he threw out the first pitch at the Cleveland Indians baseball team's Progressive Field. The Ohio native, who suffered a serious shoulder injury last year (15), was invited to take part in the team's Opening Day festivities, but his presence failed to help the Indians secure a victory against the visiting Boston Red Sox.

Fact: Indie rockers The Black Keys are hoping to hit a home run with their latest charitable effort - they have designed T-shirts and hoodies to raise money for their childhood baseball league in Akron, Ohio. All proceeds will go to the West Akron Baseball League and help the organisers purchase uniforms, upgrade equipment and minimise registration fees for young athletes.

The duo has posted the custom jersey for the West Akron Little League it sponsors online - and all proceeds from sales go directly to officials to help them fund the upkeep of fields and bleachers and upgrade equipment.
