Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney has received a wave of abuse from disgruntled fans of Justin Bieber, following the musician's remarks about Bieber's Grammys snub. In fairness to Carney, the musician was collared by TMZ reporters on his way to the after-party on Sunday evening and was asked his thoughts on why Justin hadn't been nominated for the biggest awards show on the music calendar. The question was hardly relevant, though Carney did his best to answer, offering, "He's rich, right? I mean, I don't know. Grammys are, like, for music, not for money, and he's making a lot of money. I don't know - he should be happy, I guess," which roughly translates to: he's got tons of money, why does he need a Grammy?

After receiving a wave of media attention, the drummer later tweeted, "It's cool when you get cornered outside your hotel by a guy with a camera and they ask you a dumb question and then put it on TV." Of course, the brainless Justin Bieber took things rather personally, tweeting to his 34 million followers, "the black keys drummer should be slapped around haha." Out of 34 million, you're always going to get a couple of idiots, and they quickly reared their heads on Carney's Twitter profile. "Hey old scary grandpa, FYI you are a bad drummer and YOU don't deserve TO BE in the BAND, OKAY?" said one Bieber fan. Another offered, "I really wanna kill u NOW..!!" which Carney re-tweeted to his 98,000 followers. Some responses were more humorous than anything, with one fan fuming "I know, you're jealous of justin because he get more money than you. right? or you jealous because he famous than you," while another read, "You burn jealous with an 18 year old, that's the reason you give all those silly excuse."

With seven Grammy awards under his belt and millions of records sold worldwide, we can't imagine Patrick Carney is too bothered.
