The pair threatened to leave each other after a tumultuous few years together, but say now that couple's therapy managed to re-ignite the spark in their marriage.
Last month, Billy Ray Cyrus announced that he was ending things with his wife and mother of his children, Tish Cyrus, following a period marred by irreconcilable differences. Now, just over a month later, the two have revealed that they are calling off the divorce proceedings and are ready to give their love life another chance thanks to some intensive couples therapy.
Billy Ray and Tish are back together again
Miley Cyrus' parents filed for divorce in mid-June and seemed ready to call time on their 13 years of marriage (having been together for a number of years prior to their actual marriage), however this seems to have all blown over after Tish posted an intimate picture of herself and the country star on her Instagram page with the caption 'Date Night' on Saturday (20 July). Since then the two have released a joint statement stating that they are back together, hopefully for good this time.
"We both woke up and realized we love each other and decided we want to stay together," the joint statement reads. "We both went into couples therapy something we haven't done in 22 years of being together, and it's brought us closer together and really opened up our communication in amazing ways."
The statement goes on to state that, after 22 years of being in the entertainment industry, there would be obvious strain placed on their relationship, but they "both realized we didn’t want to be another statistic and wanted to make it work."
The pair have five children together, although only their youngest, 13-year-old Noah, is still a minor.
