Della Rose is Joel's second daughter, and a step-sister for 29 year old Alexa Ray Joel.
At the age of 66, Billy Joel has become a father for a second time with the news that his wife Alexis Roderick has given birth to a baby girl. A representative confirmed to People magazine that Alexis delivered their daughter in the early hours of Wednesday (August 12th) in New York.
Named Della Rose, the baby weighed in at 7lbs. 6.5 oz. according to People. It’s the couple’s first child together, and Joel’s second. He’s already dad to singer-songwriter Alexa Ray Joel, his 29 year old daughter with former wife Christie Brinkley.

33 year old Alexis is the ‘Piano Man’ singer’s fourth wife, whom he married in a surprise ceremony over the Fourth of July weekend this year during an annual party he hosts at his Long Island estate in New York. The ceremony was attended by Alexa Ray among many other celebrity guests, and was presided over by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Joel was previously married to Elizabeth Weber Small between 1973 and 1982, Brinkley from 1985 to 1994, and Katie Lee from 2004 to 2009. He met Alexis, a former executive at Morgan Stanley and an accomplished equestrian, in late 2009.
It was confirmed back in April this year that the singer, who recently broke the record for the most Madison Square Garden shows, was to become a father for a second time. “Billy is thrilled to become a dad again,” a source said.
Speaking to Newsday around the same time, Joel said he was “excited” about impending fatherhood: “I'm probably going to be able to spend more time with this kid than most people are able to spend with their children,” he said, “because I don't have a regular job. I could be a stay-at-home dad for as long as I can stay alive.”
