Embattled rocker Billie Joe Armstrong has put his California beach home on the market.

The Green Day frontman, who checked into rehab for substance abuse issues in September (12), and his wife Adrienne have decided to part company with their Newport Beach cottage and they're asking almost $1.9 million (£1.2 million) for the retreat.

The couple paid a little less than $1.7 million (£1.06 million) for the property in 2006, according to website RealEstalker.com.

The beach pad has been fully renovated and upgraded.

News of Armstrong's rehab stint and his ongoing health have been kept away from the media.

Green Day were forced to scrap a series of concerts and promotional appearances following the singer's meltdown onstage at a festival in Las Vegas the day before he checked into rehab.
