The Cosby family donated $20 million (£12.5 million) to the Spelman College in Atlanta in 1988, and the professorship was named after the funnyman and his wife Camille.

The women's college provisionally suspended the position last year (14) when the allegations against The Cosby Show star first emerged, and now they are returning what is left of the fund.

Cosby, who faces allegations dating back several decades, has denied the claims made against him via his lawyer, and has not been charged by police.

He is currently facing another battle as his legal team fights to stop a judge from allowing unsealed court documents from a 2005 sexual assault case against the comedian to be made public.
