Beyonce Knowles is to make a surprise appearance at the Brit Awards.

The 'Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)' hitmaker was said to be too busy to fly to Britain for the ceremony later this month but has reportedly changed her schedule in order to sing with Lady GaGa on their raunchy duet 'Telephone'.

A source close to Beyonce - whose husband Jay-Z is confirmed to be playing at the show - told the Daily Star newspaper: "At first Beyonce didn't think she could make the BRITs. But now it's looking more likely. With her husband Jay-Z also on the bill it makes sense for her not to miss out."

The singer has received no nominations for this year's show, which will be held on February 16 at London's Earl's Court, but did home a record-breaking six gongs at the Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday night (31.01.10).

The American star thanked her hip-hop mogul husband Jay-Z as she picked up her awards, despite the couple rarely publicly acknowledging their relationship.

When asked how the '99 Problems' star responded to her comments on stage, she told US TV show 'Access Hollywood': "He was shocked! He was just like, 'What did you say?' and he said, 'You have six Grammys and you smell good.' "
