Benedict Cumberbatch has been out promoting his new film 'Doctor Strange', and made an appearance as a guest host on 'Saturday Night Live' this weekend. He dropped that series and correct facade and proved to be some of the best comedy value 'SNL' has ever seen.

Benedict CumberbatchBenedict Cumberbatch talks about his own sexiness on 'SNL'

The actor threw himself into sketches like 'Why Is Benedict Cumberbatch Hot?' and 'Koohl Toilet' on Saturday (November 5th 2016), and never once took himself seriously. Just because he went to Harrow School and played characters like Sherlock Holmes, Stephen Hawking, Alan Turing and Hamlet, doesn't mean he can't do comedy.

First of all he starred in Beck Bennett's new gameshow 'Why Is Benedict Cumberbatch Hot?', where contestants Vanessa Bayer, Aidy Bryant and Benedict Cumberbatch himself have to answer the titular question. Cumberbatch pretends to look super-embarrassed about this particular sketch, but joins in with his own theory. 'Some people said I look a bit like a hammerhead shark or a lizard man, and I sort of think I look a little bit like Sid the Sloth from Ice Age', he said. 'But I guess it doesn't really matter because Glamour magazine named me one of their Sexiest Men Alive so...'

An exasperated Beck then makes contestants decide from a series of pictures who is the hotter male between Benedict and Beck, with unflattering images used for Benedict compared with Beck's most photogenic shots. Of course, Vanessa and Aidy stuck behind Benedict, but the actor had some kind things to say about his 'SNL' colleague.

'I would say of those two photographs you are the hotter one', he insists. 'I look ridiculously goofy in mine and you're in shape and you look very handsome in yours. You've got nice abs and your skin looks good and smooth and even and you're also funny and charming and super-nice (until this sketch) and I've enjoyed hanging out with you this week and I hope we could do it again.' Naturally, after a girlish giggle ('Oh my gosh, Benny!'), Beck finally realises why Benedict Cumberbatch is so hot after all.

He also plays a maverick in an advert for 'Koohl Toilet by Kohler' set amidst a capitalist society built on the idea that there is no way to feel confident or cool on the toilet, and there never has been. Benedict Cumberbatch drops his pants, straddles a lavatory backwards and certainly proves that theory wrong.
