The 'Doctor Strange' star is to host 'SNL' on November 5th - the last episode before the presidential election.
‘Saturday Night Live’ has done very well in recent weeks and seasons, primarily through poking fun at Donald Trump and the American presidential elections. Now, the NBC series has unveiled its final guest host before the 2016 elections get under way next month, and it’s a big name!
Benedict Cumberbatch is hosting the November 5th episode, which will represent the final show before the Clinton vs. Trump showdown three days later. Solange Knowles – the R&B singer who topped the album charts recently with A Seat At the Table, and Beyonce’s younger sister – is the episode’s musical guest, according to Deadline.

The show is taking a one-week break over Halloween weekend, having been on for four consecutive weeks since beginning at the start of October.
It’s been a significant month for Cumberbatch, with the 40 year old ‘Sherlock’ actor making his debut in the Marvel universe with Doctor Strange making its premiere early next month, and the announcement that his wife Sophie Hunter is expecting their second child.

Meanwhile, ‘SNL’ responded to Donald Trump’s recent tirade that the show was “rigging” the election against him – by mercilessly making fun of him once again.
One sketch on last weekend’s show (October 22nd) saw them lay bare the third and final candidates’ debate that happened last Wednesday. Tom Hanks, who was the show’s guest host for the weekend, played the moderator Chris Wallace, while Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon reprised their beloved roles as Trump and Clinton.
Particularly, they skewered the Republican’s stance on reproductive rights, with Baldwin’s Trump saying that abortion doctors were “ripping babies out of women’s wombs.”
Replying as Hillary, McKinnon, a recent star of the all-female ‘Ghostbusters’ and long-time ‘SNL’ star, said: “What two better people are there to talk about women’s issues, me a woman who has had a child and has taken birth control and him, a man who is a child and whose face is birth control.”
