British actor Sir Ben Kingsley was so moved when he first watched Martin Scorsese's first 3D movie Hugo, he broke down in tears.
The Oscar-winner, who plays Georges Melies in the children's adventure film alongside Jude Law and Chloe Moretz, watched the movie at a private screening before it premiered in London on Monday night (28Nov11).
And Kingsley was so taken aback by the film, about an orphaned boy who lives in the wall of a train station in 1930s Paris, he started crying within minutes.
He tells the Press Association, "I was the only person in the cinema and, after 90 seconds, I was in tears at the sheer beauty of it.
"All Martin's films have a great tenderness, even when they're dealing with violence. People love each other, they die for each other, they're highly emotional."
