Ben Haenow has bought his mum a house.

The 2014 'The X Factor' winner has followed through on his vow to buy his mother a home following his victory on the show in December, by paying off the mortgage on the house in which she lives with his brother.

Asked what a win would mean to him prior to the show's final last year, he explained: ''It would help get us, my family, in a better place. We live in a council estate and me, my mum and brother live together. So I'd like to sort my family out with somewhere else to live.

''I just want to make my mum's life a bit easier. I'd like it if she didn't have to worry as she gets older and for her not to have to work quite so hard.''

The news the 30-year-old singer has paid off his family's mortgage comes as his single 'Something I Need' has gone platinum in the UK, with the hunk hoping to build on the track's success with his debut album, which he is currently recording.

Although no release date has been revealed for the LP, he has been co-writing songs for the record with Irish folk band Kodaline as well as songwriter JR Rotem who has previously written chart-topping tracks for Rihanna, Jason Derulo, Sean Kingston, Destiny's Child and Nicki Minaj.
