The star-studded bash was hosted by Saturday Night Live comedienne Cecily Strong and featured guests including Ashley Judd, Jane Seymour, Idina Menzel, Lucy Liu, model Karlie Kloss, and Modern Family stars Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell and Eric Stonestreet.

The audience enjoyed a dinner and a comedic speech from Democratic leader Obama, who poked fun at the Republican candidates planning to run for his job when he steps down from office next year (16).

Obama also roped in comedian Keegan-Michael Key as an "anger translator" to make mean remarks on the politician's behalf during the party at the Washington Hilton hotel.

Other attendees included pregnant Glee star Naya Rivera, Norman Reedus from The Walking Dead, model Chrissy Teigen, Game of Thrones actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Michelle Trachtenberg, Laverne Cox and Sophia Bush, who attended the bash hours after learning her ex-boyfriend, Google executive Dan Fredinburg, had died in an avalanche in Nepal while climbing Mount Everest.
