Avicii has denied pop stars One Direction their fourth number one single in the U.K. after their Best Song Ever failed to topple the dance Dj from the top of the charts.

The Swedish hitmaker scored a second week atop the countdown with Wake Me Up, while the boys of One Direction have had to settle for second place.

Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines slipped one place to third, while John Newman's Love Me Again and I Love It by Icona Pop rounded out the new top five.

In the U.K. albums chart, singer Jahmene Douglas, who was a runner-up on Britain's The X Factor last year (12), landed his first number one with Love Never Fails, pushing Thicke's Blurred Lines down to number two as Jay Z's Magna Carta... Holy Grail slipped to third.
