Avenged Sevenfold frontman Matt Shadows has paid tribute to his late bandmate Jimmy Sullivan on the second anniversary of his death.
The drummer, nicknamed The Reverend, died on 28 December, 2009 after suffering an accidental overdose of prescription drugs and his good pal has taken to Twitter.com to mark the sad date.
In a post on Wednesday (28Dec11), Shadows writes, "I miss you Rev. Good bye Avengers. foRever The Rev always our hearts."
A number of Sullivan's other peers have also taken a moment to remember the percussionist.
Good Charlotte's Benji Madden tweets, "Thinkin (sic) of Jimmy this morning& sendin (sic) Love to my brothers who's (sic) hearts ache for you today. what a life u (sic) lived Rev! You still Live foRever".
Bullet For My Valentine frontman Matt Tuck and Papa Roach singer Jacoby Shaddix have also honoured the late star via RevolverMag.com.
Tuck says, "Jimmy had a huge amount of love for everyone he met. When we'd go out for drinks, he would always grab you and hug you and kiss you and tell you how much he loved you. Jimmy had a huge passion for living life for however long he was going to be on this earth. It was cut dramatically short, but, for the amount of time he was here, rest assured, he had a great time."
Shaddix adds, "Not only was he a great and innovative drummer/song writer, he was a leader who truly cared about his band his fans and all his friends. I admire that about him".
Meanwhile, Sullivan's temporary replacement in Avenged Sevenfold, Mike Portnoy, has also expressed his sorrow, writing on his Twitter page, "Rip Jimmy Sullivan - 2 years gone.. .I was privileged to see first-hand the impact you had on your friends, family & fans RememberTheRev".
Portnoy was dropped by the remaining members of Avenged Sevenfold last year (Dec10). Confide star Arin Ilejay was hired in his place.
