Ashlee Simpson is an American singer/songwriter and actress who had her own reality television show. She is the younger sister of singer/songwriter and actress Jessica Simpson.

Childhood: Ashlee Simpson was born to Tina Ann and Joe Truett Simpson in Waco, Texas. At the age of three, Simpson began learning ballet. Ashley attended the same schools as her older sister, Jessica. These were Prairie Creek Elementary and Richardson North Junior High as well as enrolling at the School of American Ballet in New York City in 1995. In 1999, she and her family relocated to California to help Jessica's singing career.
Career: After Jessica Simpsons' successful debut album, Ashlee was inspired to try herself. She recorded a song called 'Christmas Past, Present and Future', which was released on the 2002 collaborative album, 'School's Out! Christmas'. Following a busy work schedule, Simpson collapsed while performing in Japan and was sent to hospital for a time. She released a third album, 'Bittersweet World', in 2008. Like the previous album, Simpson stated that it was inspired by 80s pop music, while also evoking more of a rock feeling than her previous albums. 'Bittersweet World' peaked at number four on Billboard's Hot 200 list. In 2011, Simpson confirmed that she was working on a fourth album. Personal Life: In 2006, Simpson began dating Pete Wentz - the bassist for Fall Out Boy - and the couple were engaged in 2008.
